North's Signature Tactic Leaves Selective Defenseless
Headed by Old Rancagua, the northern alliance has practically swatted aside all of Avamar Selective's military in one swoop. While the Selective's defense was formidable, it could not stand up to an overwhelming tactic used often by the north against nations in a weakened state. The swarm tactic of the north has never been turned back in recent history and has the effect of quickly disposing of an enemy nation. The tactic is simple yet efficient and has seen to the end of allies and friends Rancagua and Oligarch.

In an extreme irony the tactic was also used to destroy the Avamar of the past when Fontanese, Old Rancaguan, and Sirion troops invaded the city of Avamar finally ending the controversial nation. The battle was for a time the largest to have occured in the world with the northern nations sending more than twice the number men into the city as the defenders had. Avamar fell quickly after that and wasn't heard from, until the Avamar Selective reared its head.

The EIDA Easily Crosses Borders
The recent flurry of tournaments on East Island and the rapid expansion of guildhouses across the south by many patrons of the EIDA has put the East Island Dueling Association above the common guild. Over the past weeks the guild has grown quickly in renown and popularity. The recent addition and planning of new guildhouses in Itorunt and Ibladesh have only added to that effect by quickly bridging the gap that sometimes stops guilds at a realm border. The EIDA has experienced a growth in members that has currently expanded the branches of the guild into ten realms who otherwise have no association. The Perdan based guild has even been supported by Doc himself in Oligarch City by the opening of a guildhouse in the old capital of Oligarch.

The guild has grown quickly from its beginnings in the woods of Perdan and to get the inside on this topic we asked Yunari Tian, the founder of the EIDA herself. Read below for the interview.

Region Repairs Nearing An End
With the recent region transfers finally ending Perdan is looking to the future. Recruitment centers have been built and more are expected. There are also new interests in the minds of Perdan nobles. Religion has become an important topic and guilds have flourished. Several topics have come up and been discussed and dueling has become an important part of the everyday. Perdan has reached a level of cooperation and involvement so high between nobles that even after losing many food producing regions we have managed to feed our people. It still amazes this journalist to no end how a realm can flourish in defeat.
Interview With Yunari Tian
To complement our article about the EIDA we decided to ask Yunari Tian, the founder of the EIDA, about her guild. She agreed and we gladly asked questions about the recent expansion of the East Island Dueling Association.

1. Recently the EIDA has grown a lot. What do you think has propelled this recent expansion?

A: Well, some of it must be attributed to the guild co-funding expansions. This peace has also diverted an amount of excess funds to other uses. An amount of gold has also been donated to the guild, from tournament winnings, that allows us more funds to for other things than guild maintenance. Though I must admit that most has been spent by now.

2. When you established the guild in Perdan did you think it would cross realm borders and grow so quickly?

A: I had originally felt that our enemies would join the guild when they crossed into Perdan to fight us, but it wasn't so. In fact, it wasn't until the EIDA crossed into LoF that membership began to rise, as more and more families became interested in it, and spread the word of the guild.

3. Many realms' nobles, enemies and allies alike, have joined the guild. Do you think the EIDA will have a future roll in bringing complete peace to East Island?

A: Complete peace is never possible. If we tried to influence politics, the EIDA would become no better than those realms that have, or attempt to have, other realms as puppet-states. The EIDA is not, and will not become a guild that has it's hand in politics. The EIDA is a guild established for all nobles, regardless of realm or politics.

4. Finally, how has the recent flurry of tournaments affected the membership of the EIDA?

A: It allows the EIDA to advertise to a very broad audience in a very short amount of time. Of course, this means some may have to travel a distance, but the EIDA will have guild houses in: Perdan, LoF, Ibladesh, Yssaria, Fontan, Caligus, and soon Itorunt.
