Mathias was tracking a horde of monsters through the woods of Thysan when he came across a large grouping of them. Pulling out his sword he quickly went to work. After a fierce battle the only figures standing in the twilight hours were Mathias and the great monster leader, Grendel the betrayer. After exchanging many blows both were panting heavily and Mathias was leaning heavily on his right leg. With one might blow, Grendel slammed Mathias into a nearby tree. Mathias collapsed and the great monster, thinking the battle was won, turned his back to claim Mathias' sword as a trophy. Mathias, seeing opportunity, quickly drew his dagger and stabbed it into the back of Grendels head. Grendel died instantly and as he fell out of his pouch dropped a bottle. The Ornate Oil of Betrayal was within.
