Batu Khan Is 5’11,his Weight is about 175 pounds, short black hair, dark brown eyes, and a light beard. is not very tall but compact with wiry muscles.He is possessed of angular features, striking high cheekbones, and prominant sideburns.Though he is usually clean-shaven. dark complexion.
Bio
Batu had quit an unfortunate childhood, however it did not began that way. He grew up in the city of Calis with his parents. Life was good for the young boy, who showed a fascination in almost every thing when he was but a child, which grew with age. He was a happy boy, his uncle would visit him often and tell him story’s of his grand adventures.
Both his parents were from the deserts of Talerium were they once lived with the clan of Curu’Alak. Batu never know however that in their youth that both his parents were assassin’s, as most in Curu’Alak were. But when Laurie, Batu’s mother, become pregnant, she and her husband Huss-kale decided that they did not want there son to grow in the same hostile environment as they had and moved to Calis to rise their new family.
However this move greatly upset the Clan of Curu’Alak who raised all there son and daughters in the ways of the shadow sands. Ub-ha-seed, Huss-kale’s brother spoken in their favor, and as able to make an argument with the High master’s of Curu’Alak.
If the parents agreed to send the boy back when he was of age to decide himself, then they would allow them to leave to Calis, they also had to promise to never reveal any of the ancient arts they had learned in the clan to any one for any reason. Laurie and Huss-Kale agreed, thus they traveled to Calis were they lived in practical ease after their baby boy, Batu, was born. And they lived a happy life, but as the elder’s of Curu’Alak often saw, “nothing can last forever”.
So it happened on Batu’s sixth birthday tragedy struck, and both his parents were killed in a devastating fire. He to was almost lost, but was able to survive under the corpses of his parents which created a disgusting yet effective shield from the unrelenting heat, a true miracle. The fire burned down most of the block, and to this day no one knows for sure how it was started. As one can imagine the kind of effect this kind of event would have on a child. And thought he had survived the vicious fire he was likely scared for like, if not physically but mentally.
Since that day Batu and paranoia of fire, perhaps one could chalk it up to childhood trauma, but Batu always seemed to know when to duck and roll, and people always had an impossible time trying to hit him because of this unnatural evasion ability. After the fire Batu became an orphan for the next three years. He had to beg, find, scavenge, or often steal his food just to survive.
Survival became his driving instinct, and by the age of 10, he was already something of a leader among the other city urchins. Some of the other orphaned or abandoned bustard children even the older ones, looked up to him. Batu gifted with a tactical and curious mind, always planed their little raids on merchant stands. Usually one of the younger ones often the girls, would distract the merchant often asking for food or even a small crumb, then well the merchant was distracted, the other’s would then grab what ever they could as quickly as possible and run. Batu always made sure every one had their fair shear.
Soon however the merchants wised up to their tricks, once they were caught the other escaped but Batu was caught and beaten badly by the angry merchants. Who after they had bent their frustration on him sold him to a sold him to a group pedophilic merchants who were, if anything, worse than the merchants before.
This betrayal was enough to put a block on Batu’s emotions, making the man hide from the world by a sheer mental wall of rage and cynicism. who soon escaped them however and sonitued to survive alone.
It was four years now after the fire that Batu met Zirena khan, when she was but a young girl. Batu had spotted her from afar and did not know it then that they were of the same kin, intrigued he followed her. Until one day see noticed him watching her from afar, but instead of being frightened, she beckoned him over. Which was the start of a long lasting friendship, Batu’s first “real” fiend one may say.
She helped mend the scar that had formed after the loss of both his parents, and for a time he could forget his terrible past. Soon however Zirena became of age, nearly 15, and retuned back to Hidale. Batu was certain that he would be alone now, again as he had been before. But as it happened as he was staring at a stand of beard his mouth almost watering, Ub-ha-seed Batu’s uncle was on a contract mission from his clan in Calis. He spotted Batu but could hardly believe his eyes. He had thought like every one else that the boy had perished in the flame’s which was why Ub-ha-seed had not sought after him.
When the met and embraced for the first time in almost 8 years, after Ub-ha-seed took him in and took care of him for the week he was staying in Calis. In that one week Batu told his uncle of all the things that had happened to him since the accident. His uncle was amazed by how well Batu had taken care of him self showing a true trait for survival. Eventually Ub-ha-seed left back to Talerium, with Batu by his side. Ub-ha-seed had told him little about his clan, a clan that Batu was apart of being a relative to his uncle, one that he soon learned that both his parents had been apart of.
The realization of finding that he had a home after all and a family as well was to much for Batu. But soon he would see for him self.
In Chocxal, he was taken in by the Curu'Alak guild ruled by the 13 masters, known as the Pashas. Ub-ha-seed taught young Batu the tricks of the trade, teaching him the basics of fighting, and helping him master stealth. As Batu practiced, he flourished, becoming the most efficient and deadly assassin in Chocxal and perhaps all of Taluriem. He was hired by many Pashas, his most recent employer though was Zirena Khan.
Batu was glad to hear from her and took the mission with support form his uncle set sail for Diliwight.
before leaving Ub-ha-seed told Batu it was time for him to face the Dream Jinn after besting the desert spirit in a battle of wits it gifted Batu two beautiful scimitars.
Personality
Batu is a professional and always has an air of control about him. Every move he makes or word he speaks is calculated to achieve a desired effect. He never allows emotions or the circumstances, no matter how dire, to master him. He tirelessly maintains himself in top condition, and constantly seeks to improve his martial skills. Batu also is terribly cunning, able to out think as well as outfight his opponents. One aspect of his professionalism that is rare in a man whose business is killing is that Batu usually never kills unless it is necessary or unless he's been hired to do so.
Batu Khans greatest hatred and disgust is reserved for those who are willing to abandon or betray their children in an effort to save themselves. This is because of events of his childhood.
Tactics
Batu is a tactical master, taking every advantage offered him and seeking to create more. Batu is also a very fast learner. Even if he observes a particular combat maneuver just once or twice, he is able to adapt it to his choice of weapons and duplicate it effectively in battle. He is also excellent at improvising; he can use his surroundings to excellent effect, when he would otherwise be at a severe disadvantage. Batu is also a consummate warrior, combining his ambidexterity, thieving training, and warrior's weapon skills to be one of the most dangerous swordsmen in the Realms.
