By this time Cael had adopted a somewhat phlegmatic approach to sages. He had dealt with quite a few of them, and met even more. So it was that when the sage failed to craft an item the first time, he simply asked the sage to try again, without any rancour in his voice. After all, he found himself to be a sufficient conversation circle, so was not bored.
After an hour talking to himself and speculating on things, Cael was pleased to see the sage return carrying a fine piece of armour.
At first glance Cael thought the armour was simply a normal, finely crafted piece. But upon closer inspection, as the sage moved into the shade, he could see that the item was in fact glowing.
"Ah yes, an excellent piece young man!" said the sage in his affected and nasal tone. "Nice and clean cut, no frills, good quality," he continued, squinting at Cael.
As Cael took the Armour from the sage, the man gave this odd piece of advice: "When the hour is darkest, and most dire is the need, then the Armour shall shine forth most brilliantly...
"May the Woodspirits guide you well." the sage said as parting words.
