The Moose Guard is a special part of the Church. Instead of spending their time in the Temples, Churches or Shrines, they go out on the field, or just protect the places of worship.

The Moose Guard has been created by Eirik Bridgebuilder, count of Haji. He is their leader, and therefor he is in charge of the Moose Guard division within the Church.

History

Location

The Moose and their Riders are trained in Haji. There, the Church has a temple, who is specialised in training the unit. Their training is hard and only the smartest and strongest men survive. You have to be decisive, dedicated and you have to believe in the Church.

Haji is a rather big region in Old Grehk. Originally it belonged to Ashborn. However they gave the region to Old Grehk to create a border between them and Sint. The region has about 7000 civilians, and is a Northern Lowland.

The Camp of the Moose Guard is located a few miles outside the town of Haji, in the middle of forest. The camp can't be seen until you stand right in front of it. The camp is quiet basic, as it has wooden walls, and a few towers to look out. The Towers however are build in higher trees, so they remain undetected. The Camp has everything to give the soldiers a nice and confortable shrine. There is a sort of shrine in the right corner of the camp, and the barracks are in good shape and made out of stone. Every barrack has his own, small kitchen, and in every barrack there can be stationed 50 soldiers.

In the center of the camp, there is a wide open space with two flags on a post, the Old Grehkian flag and the flag of the Moose Guard, a blue flag with a black cross and a grey line on the left.

In the Camp, there are a few houses. These are the houses of the officers and the priests. Also, there is a small wooden shed, the prison. If a traitor or a spy gets caught, they will mostly end their live in that shed.

Description

The Moose Guard is a remarkable unit. If you see one on the streets, you will recognise the immediatly. There are not many of them, it's a select club.

The soldiers who ride the moose are dressed in light clothing. They wear a gray small hat with a blue line on it. They have black leather boots, long grey pants and a uniform which is blue with a black cross on it. Mostly they use spears and bows. Soldiers are always equipped with two spears, a bow and several arrows and a small dagger. They were the spears in the form of an 'x' on their back. The Soldiers can fight very well with spears, both in jousting and throwing them. They carry the bow on their moose. This allows them to pull their spear first, and then take their bow and arrows from the side of their moose. The bows are usefull to scare the enemy from a distance, or to shoot in a city. The soldier can decide if he wants a short or a long range bow. Their small dagger is hidden in their boot. This way, they can suprise the enemy when they are on the ground.

The Moose theirselves can be described as light cavalry. As everyone knows how moose look like, you also know that they have a quiet good charge. The moose don't wear armour though, as that would decrease their ability to move quickly. The moose are fetched in Ffangor Forest or in the mountains in Jedinchel.

The Moose Guards is famous for several things. Besides that they are the defenders of the Church of Estahsism, they are also very good scouts. The Moose Guard is quickly, and is a master in remaining undetected. They are loyal to those who leads them.
