PATIENCE

The wind slides carefully

and carries the cries

of man's agony

Long covered in a blanket

of dust and dreams

This battlefield I wear

covers my shoulders,

shrouds my eyes,

breaks my crystal breath

To fall as snow

and purify this haunted ground.

She waits for me..

I see her eyes and push

toward their soft promise.

I hear her sigh and drag

this broken body along. I feel her skin

(just out of reach)

and strain for her warmth.

The men follow me

in their innocence lost

They see a victory in my purpose, a siege in my intent

They see hope

that stays a step ahead

and calls them forth

They proudly carry my banner

and cheer for immortality.

I will charge them into

the blades of history

If that is where she waits

to lay down next to me

And take this sword and shield

as her dowry.

She cannot still be waiting,

my only general.

Ukla Mokk Count of Abadan

This was the second contribution to the contest

Trumpets sound,

And Caligans roar,

As we march into the battlefields.

Arrows fly,

And Caligans brace,

As we prepare for our deadly charge.

"This is it!",

And Caligans charged,

A point of no return.

Clashing of steel,

And Caligans slay,

As enemies fall, one by one.

The end draws near,

And Caligans won,

As they flee, we cheered.

Still, the war drags on,

But Caligans shall prevail,

As final victory shall be ours!

Fret not comrades!

For we're Caligans,

The Lions of East Continent.

We'll stand our ground,

For we're Caligans,

Our land, our home, our future.

For Caligus!
