The Bennet family is a new noble family, originally from Canock, Atamara.

Bennet family history

Bennet crest.png The head of the family, William Bennet, was born to a family of peasants living in the region of Canock. Being the youngest sibling (he was the 9th child of the family) he was always teased by his older brothers and sisters. This helped him build his character, and he grew up to be a brave, ambitious and determined young man. He married Elizabeth when he was only 18, and for a few years they lived a simple and happy life in a small house in a village in Canock. They were doing well for themselves , they grew wheat and maize and also owned a few cattle.

One day, the region of Canock was invaded by a horde of monsters. That was the day when everything changed for William and his wife. Encountering no resistance on their way, the monsters were getting closer and closer to the village where the Bennets lived, and were threatening to destroy everything in their path and kill everyone who dared to face them. Most of the other villagers where fleeing their homes and running to save their lives, but Mr. Bennet decided he couldn’t just sit and watch all his hard work being destroyed by the ugly beasts. After sending his wife along with the rest of the peasants, he grabbed his pitchfork and, along with a small group of his brave friends, faced the monsters that were threatening to destroy everything they owned.

Mr. Bennet fought bravely and managed to kill two of the monstrous beasts. He himself was injured a little, but he continued to fight, ignoring the sharp pain in him left arm. His friends also managed to kill some of the monsters without suffering life-threatening injuries. Soon, a few knights joined the small group of brave men, and together they managed to kill the rest of the beasts.

William Bennet was rewarded for his actions by the ruler of Carelia and became a knight of Canock. He was happy with his title, but even happier for managing to protect his beloved wife, their home and their land. He knew that with his title came a lot of responsibilities and that he would have to work hard and fight many battles to prove worthy of his title. He swore to himself, on the same day he was knighted, that he would train his sons to become brave knights. To his disappointment (although it didn’t last long) he was blessed with two daughters (so he thought, because he wasn’t aware of the existence of his son, Albert). His sadness vanished when he discovered that the girls were more interested in swords fighting and battle tactics then in embroidery and sewing. He trained them both to be brave knights, to fight for what they believed in and to bring honor to their family.

William had all the qualities he needed to be a great knight and a loving husband and father, but he had a small weakness, he could not resist to the charms of a beautiful woman. He did love his wife a lot, but during his campaigns on foreign lands, he had strayed a few times. On one of these campaigns he met Albert’s mother…

Albert

Albert was born in Sirion to a small noble family. For a bit more than 18 years he thought he was the son of Sir Alastor and Lady Anna Aldorns. The only one who knew the truth all that time was his mother, but she decided to take her secret to her grave. No one was to know about the brave young knight from Canock she met when he was on a campaign with his fellow realm mates. Her husband, who was at that time fighting in a distant region, was never going to find out about that man, the one with the deep blue eyes, the one she had shared her bed with that winter…

When Albert was 18 years old, the man who he thought was his father, Sir Alastor, died in battle. His mother was then forced to tell Albert the truth, because she didn’t have enough money to pay for his training at the academy. So she decided to send him, together with a letter from her, to William. William was thrilled to find out that he had a son. His wife, on the other hand, was not very happy, but, when she saw how thrilled William was to have a son, she learned to accustom with the idea. William wrote back to Lady Anna to inform her that he was going to pay for their sons’ military training. And so, Albert was on his way to becoming a knight.

Three years later he finished the academy. There was no doubt he was his fathers son, he inherited not only his deep blue eyes that his mother loved so much, but also his courage, determination, and will to prove himself.

Not long after finishing the academy, he returned to Sirion, to his mother, and started his carrier as a knight there. He liked his real father, and got along really well with his sisters, but he didn’t feel at home in Canock…he had to go back. His mother was happy to see him back and she lived to see him return victoriously from battles a few times, but not many, because a strange illness ended her life less than a year after his return.

He was much grieved by his mothers death, and he decided to leave the place that reminded him so much of her. He wanted to go as far away as possible from that place, so he boarded the available first ship and went to the Colonies, in the realm of Wetham. He is planning to start over and make a name for himself in his new realm.

Albert's Roleplays

Lucilla

Lucilla was born a few months after Albert in the Bennet’s mansion in Canock. Ever since she was a little girl, everyone said she would turn into a beautiful woman. And they were right. Her blue eyes and dark blond hair were usually the ones that drew admirative gazes by the men that happened to pass by her on the streets. Suitors started coming to the Bennet mansion when she turned 14. But no, her mind wasn’t set on marriage, and their promises and fabulous gifts didn’t change her mind. No, she was not going to become a knights wife, she was not going to stay home, raise their children, manage their household and wait for him to return from campaigns. She was going to enroll in the academy and become a knight herself...

Since she was little she liked staying outside, practicing swords fighting with blunt wooden swords and bucklers, riding one of the horses, or lance practicing. Her mother did not approved of that. Countless times she had tried to convince her daughter to take painting lessons, to learn how to play the piano or embroider, but she never managed to. Lucilla’s mind was set on becoming a knight and fighting, just like her father. William, of course, was thrilled about that, and happily taught her swords fighting, jousting and archery. He was astonished by how quickly she leaned to master the skills he had taught her.

By the time she enrolled in the academy, she was already pretty good in all the skills needed to become a knight, and by the time she finished it, she became great at them. She went to the academy together with Albert, and became good friends at the academy. She was saddened by his decision to leave Carelia and go back to the place where he was born, but she understood his decision.

Not long after finishing the academy, she decided to move to a different realm herself. She was of an adventurous nature, she always had to try something new, always had to visit other places. So she decided to move to Beluaterra, to the realm of Heen, and try her luck there.
