Previous: a New Priest

A Priest Attacked

Upon written request of the Ruler of Avalon, the Druids have been requested to take up work in Piwani, to attempt to influence the land in becoming a region belonging to Avalon. Hector, after recieving the request, immediately turns around and heads towards Piwani. After a few days, he reaches his destination, and sets up camp on the outskirts of town.

Hector was preaching in Piwani when a parchment came with a red seal on it. He wrapped up his surmon and proceeded to his camp and entered his tent. He opened the letter, his hard eyes starring in disbelief at the words he was reading. Kara had been attacked while preaching in Wilwau, and was in serious condition.

His heart was pounding, rage welling up inside him at the thought of her lying in the street while a hatefull mob kicked at her, repeatedly, until she was not conscience. He began to shake and noticed he was crushing the parchment. He let it go and sat back on his cot. He starred off, hearing nothing, feeling nothing just thinking of her. Possibly dying as he sat there. He stood up and leaned on his dresser chest staring at the white, canvas tent wall as it fluttered from the wind. He suddenly raked everything off the dresser and shoved it to the side, spinning with anger, then leaned again on the dresser.

His scribe had heard all of the commotion and peaked into the tent, "Lord Hector, is all well?"

"That blastfamous religion... By the Devine One, they will pay!!! They will suffer one day! Scribe, compose a strongly worded letter for our General to consider action against such a religion, be it military or sanctions!!!" Hector says.

"Yes, sire"

"Wait.... wait, on second thought, strike that letter, when the time is right, I will act."

"Mi'lord" the scribe bows as he leaves his tent.

Hector sits in his chair and stares off again, thinking of her.

Dangers in Tey Gren

The next day, Hector sits down in his tent after preaching for 12 hours straight. He converted many people that day, but was extremely tired. He realized he had neglected Jean and Siobhan in his writings and thoughts. He was very happy to have a new order with three priests dedicated to the order, but was pleasantly puzzled by why now he had 2 women sign up to spread the faith and one new man.

He laughed somewhat to himself, he felt like a mother duck, and was proud to see his new fledgling priests already starting to make a major impact. He was very happy to read the scroll containing Jean's progress and very concerned to read the trouble Siobhan was feeling near Tey Gren. He was worried from another report he recieved that showed creatures from the underworld in the region Siobhan was in. He was terrified they were coming to stop the advancement of the order, and perhaps there was another invasion at the brink of happening.

He immediately dispatched a messenger to Zod, where the Colony Tree lives, to check on it's status. To ensure it is still alive, preventing another invasion.

He turned his thoughts back to Siobhan, he leans forward and composes a letter:

"Siobhan, please be careful while in and around Tey Gren. There have been undead and monsters spotted in that region. Remember hallowed ground protects you so find a church, any church or a shrine and hide there if you are attacked. Fire is also good protection against them. If you are forced to fight, bless your sword first, or it may not kill them. Take care, walk lightly and may you be protected in your travels.

Signed, Hector, Grand Master Druid"

Hector looks up from his letter and calls for a messenger. As he seals it in an envelope, colored in blue, with a red seal, Hector instructs the messenger to deliver it to her as fast as possible.

"Yes sire, I shall".

Hector lies down to try to get some sleep, with all his priests in possible danger, he has found very little time for sleep.

Sioghan gets the letter

As night was falling, Siobhan saw a rider approaching from the opposite direction.

"Lady Siobhan?"

Siobhan's hand instinctively moved to her sword.

"An urgent dispatch from Grand Master Druid Hector."

He handed the envelope to her and immediately turned around. After only a few seconds he had disappeared from sight. Siobhan read the letter and smiled. 'I'll be in Piwani in a couple of hours', she thought. Safe and sound...
