The ring belonged to Malfurion Stormrage, one of the legandary lords of Commonyr. When Everhard Brennaborg became Lord of the region, he paid Pryce to retrieve this long lost symbol of authority to bolster his own claim. However, during the Battle in Evora on 2024-06-14 Everhard was wounded and the ring was lost.

The ring was later found by scouts belonging to Benjamin Pryde when he returned to Evora on 7/7/24 and he immediately messaged Everhard to inform him that his property had been found and stated that he would like to organize a peaceable meeting after the war is over to return his property. However, they met sooner than expected during the Battle in Dulbin. Immediately after the battle, Benjamin sent a servant to the wounded Everhard with the ring, because he did not want to keep the ring hostage.

On 2024-09-17 Everhard gave the ring to Gniewomir Rabczynski, the new Earl of Commonyr.

Gniewomir towered above Everhard. Yet the Marshal spoke with confidence and showed an iron ring with an emerald: "The Dark Ring of Malfurion, the legendary lord of Commonyr. May it ever guide you to ambition."
Gniewomir received the ring that was given to him, then bowed and said:
"I am very pleased to become the new Lord of Commonyr. It was a very pleasant surprise to be chosen as your successor, I hope that under my reign the people will be treated as well as under yours."
Gniewomir then put the ring on his ring finger, after that he said:
"It's also an honor to be invited for another campaign, may it be as fruitful as the last one that I participated in."
After that Gniewomir exclaimed: "URA!"
Hearing that soldiers of Gniewomir's unit exclaimed after: "URA!"
