The elven family of Ni'Tessine, based in the realm of Sirion on the East Continent, is at present a minor noble family. They were recognized in the Year of the Roaring Dragon (OOC: started Oct-11-2009) for notable acts of bravery.

Origin

Steadholder Lucas and his son, Corwyn, were toiling the land in a small settlement outside of the city of Parm, when word came to them of a massive boar with tusks almost as long as daggers. The boar had already killed two cows and maimed a farmer who had tried to fend it off. Equipping themselves with bows, Lucas and Corwyn set out deep into the forest to put down this threat to their land. Though ultimately successful, Lucas fatally gored in the attack, leaving only his son Corwyn as the sole survivor. Over the course of 2 days, Corwyn dragged the mighty beast through the woods back to Parm. In recognition of their brave deeds the Duke of Parm, Sir Alexander Acies Dux Ducis1, rewarded both Corwyn and Lucas (post-mortem) with the gratitude of the city and a title.

Heraldry

It is perhaps ironic then that the Ni'Tessine heraldry does not feature a boar. Perhaps feeling a little self-conscious about his commoner background, and trying to distance himself from it, the founder Corwyn chose a rampant pegasus as the primary motif. No doubt he felt it was more majestic and regal than a boar.

Corwyn Ni'Tessine is the founder of the Ni'Tessine noble family, though it came at great personal cost: the life of his father Lucas.

Soon after becoming a noble he became a student of mentor Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico, and shortly afterward swore an oath of fealty to Sir Vlaed Aldarion, the Count of Elmbar. Corwyn now runs an estate on the northern edge of Elmbar, as close as possible to the forest of Limbar.

Merely four days after his family earned a title Corwyn found himself defending his liege's region. It was a short one-sided battle, if it can be called that, with Corwyn's archers versus a single monster. No losses were suffered.

Corwyn is doing his best to put on a brave face, take on a noble bearing, and make a name for himself (literally). The natural choice is of course to lend his forces to the war effort, and in that capacity he aims to achieve both honour and prestige.
