Macima was born in the region of Washford, in what is now Suville. Her parents emigrated when she was a young girl in an attempt to spread the family name once again after several generations of isolation. They settled in Strombran, the capital of Carelia.
She was orphaned in her adolescent years when bandits attacked her family's coach while to returning Strombran from a reunion in Washford.
