Although the mountainous hideaway that is Drenga has long been a part of Giblot - due in large part to it's landlocked location - it has often proven difficult to maintain and provide for it's strange inhabitants. Thus although Drenga had been a part of Giblot since the first explorers arrived in the Colonies, the Drengans have always found it easy to try and fight for their independence. After many attempts at proclaiming independence, the Drengans finally succeeded several months ago after sustaining an uprising against Giblot rule that lasted many weeks. After a long period of independence, the army of Giblot eventually moved to retake Drenga, the Drengan people offering little resistance after their disasterous attempt to live independently.
