This newspaper, as of today, is now officially a year old! Through the October rebellion and Fontan's continued attempts to destroy Westmoor, we've reported it all through our extremely biased account of Westmoor's history - spreading the word to whoever decides to put down their sword for a few minutes crack open a keg of ale and read the news of that realm somewhere in-between Perdan Caligus and Sirion. If you remember back on the 9th of June of last year we were at that time at war with Fontan, Caligus and Sirion (and possibly Obsidian islands as well). A year later what's changed? Well we're still at war with Fontan (but so is everyone else) and we're now at war with Sirion for the second time. We have a different ruler on the throne a different general and a different duke of Westmoor.
Looking at the map there's a great big burning hole where Ibladesh used to be - a smoking crater where even mentioning the word 'Sarta' can get you publicly thrown off a cliff. Sultanate of Asena left it's mortal coil since one year ago and all these new realms have appeared. Nivemus, Armonia and Ep ... Eppolyn - Eppilos, Eppypotamus. Thunder and lightning I'm not the only who can't spell it I have proof in the letters page. I have to check the map every time to make sure.
So for better or for worse we're still here writing away on parchment sometimes soaked in mud, blood or other substances - hoping intently that my scribes in Oligarch city will be able to read what's been written in the field. Mighty realms have fallen and new realms have taken their place that have yet to have their metals tested. Fontan's on the way out with just a city to spare. Somewhat naughty of me to mention this but a certain noble of Fontan (who will remain nameless) approached our king as soon as Sirion declared war and again had the cheek to re-present the terms they offered last time - demilitarization of Greatbridge and reparations to them. It really is no wonder Fontan is in such a mess if they can still be so delusional. After all this time I still can't understand why Fontan never tried to be-friend Westmoor and just drop their demands. Truly a ridiculous period of history which we've had the pleasure of recording. My Guess? Fontan will probably be eaten by Caligus - which to be honest we'd rather see Caligus expand than Sirion.
<span style="font-size: 16px">Ryu wins the tournament in Aix</span>
Ryu Hinamoto at one time general of Sirion won the tournament in the south yesterday beating Wulf Kelperhurst from Caligus. Economically the prize money versus the entrance fees were the most generous of all the three tournaments we've recorded. The Aix tournament by our maths wouldn't have made a profit - so our admiration to duke Nafsika for this generosity.
