The Church of Teros
Summary
Beliefs
Light and Dark
We do not believe in the one dimensional Good and Evil, but instead the idea of the Light and the Dark. An act, or a person may live their life in, the Light, but that does not necessarily make them a good person, nor is one who lives in the Dark evil, merely Dark in nature. Members of the church are dedicated to the Dark, being followers of The One True God.
The Planes
There are two planes of existance, the first, and lower of which, is Clatharia, the plane of the mortals. It is in Clatharia that we live our lives and fight our wars. All living things in Clatharia eventually move on to the next plane, Dwilight, the plane of the gods. The plane of Dwilight rarely intersects with the plane of Clatharia, but it is not unknown. What was called Dark Tidings were merely aftereffects of The Battle of Vaalengard, in which the Dark laid siege to the fortress of The Lady of Water, called The Tower Fortress, and the undead invasions of Beluaterra were heretics attempting to escape from the Pit, only to be sent back to the Pit by The Hunter's relentlessness. The Pit is where heretics are sent, and where fallen followers of the Light in Dwilight end up - The Pit is protected by The Hunter. There is a fourth, seperate plane, which some call Phantasmo. It is a plane of prophecy, where all is fluid, and it is on this plane that Teros communicates with his followers. In Dwilight Teros appears as a dark shrouded king, and in Phantasmo and Clatharia he is The Serpent.
Teachings
There are values of which should never be forgotten, and should be the very basis for all of your actions, in this way you serve me. In all that you do seek Obedience, Strength, Loyalty, and Devotion. For a follower to break an oath is a most heinous thing, live true to your word and you will prosper. Both in this life in Clatharia and in your eternal life in Dwilight. -- Teros in The Teachings of Teros
- Protect the Church
- Destroy those who would harm the Church
- Destroy those who would attack the Followers
- Live for Strength
- Live for Obedience
- Live for Loyalty
- Defend and live by your Word
- One must live within the shadow of Teros, so that you may be prepared to fight the Light.
- The shadow on Clatharia has many names, all of which are only a part of the whole. Loyalty, Virtue, Honesty, Respect, they are all the shadow. Live within it and the Light shall never stand before you.

False Religions
In the world of Clatharia there are many religions which Teros himself has taught us to be wrong. Many religions are merely misinterpretations of the true universe, seeing more or less Gods where there are the five, and giving them incorrect titles and names. Nearly all these other so-called gods are simply those who have not discovered The Truth attempting to make sense of this world, Clatharia. Those gods, however misnamed, and their followers, are still bound by The Eventuality, whether they recognize this or not. The followers of Light cannot live with the followers of Dark, such is the way of things, and the Church will take the war which rages in Dwilight unto Clatharia, and if necessary, take up the sword to send the Light unto the Army of Teros.
The Truth
The Truth is best described in the following way:
The Truth is not tested in schools, The Truth cannot be pass'd from one having it to another not having it, The Truth is of the soul, is not susceptible of proof, is its own proof. -- Crostin's Personal Diary
The Truth is quite much like wisdom. Those who follow Teros are inheritantly aware of it, although not always at a conscious level. Those who have 'reached' The Truth are able to tell whether or not others have with a mere glance, as a wise man can tell another wise man from a fool.

History
The War
The ladies are always attempting to overthrow Teros and his Marshal, and in the beginning they had the advantage, but what once was true is now only history. Time crumbles things; everything grows old under the power of Time and is forgotten through the lapse of Time. It is Time that increases Teros power. Time, part of the very nature of Teros.
Notes
- Army of Teros
- The Army consists of the willing who have chosen to follow Teros
- Or their spirits? Undecided as of yet.
- The Army's numbers increase with all deaths. It is to Teros that all go in death, so it is Teros to serve in life.
- Ones rank in Teros' Army is dependent on their faith
- The Army consists of the willing who have chosen to follow Teros
- Beliefs
**In Death it is to the Army of Teros that all go.
- Death is not to be feared, but nor should life be thrown away.
**Teros may be served both in Life and Death.
***The Ladies may be served only in Life.

- Those without discipline will face The Marshal in many forms, be that from failure or death.

- Priests
Quotes
All men are equal in the presence of death.
It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.
And thus I clothe my naked villainy With old odd ends, stol'n forth of holy writ; And seem a saint, when most I play the devil.
