At the dawn of Kindara, its founders dedicated themselves and their new realm to learning and enlightenment. Within this Chronicle can be found the work of generations of scribes who have worked to record the history of Kindara and the lives of those nobles who have shaped it.

Kindaran historians accept that their knowledge of the early days of the Kingdom before the Chronicle was commissioned is lacking. It is their hope that lost scrolls will be found to create a full record of Kindaran history.

As things stand, the Chronicle begins just before the start of the war between Kindara and C'thonia. Following repeated insults by King Thain of C'thonia, Kindaran High Lady Tissaphernes gave the command for the armies to march to war. The battlefields were few, as the C'thonians were outmatched by the better funded and organized Kindaran forces. C'thonia also lacked allies to march to its side since their King Thain had similarly insulted the rulers of many other realms.

The C'thonians were soon driven back to their capital city of Hatdhes. A long and brutal siege followed which lasted for an entire autumn and winter. King Thain of C'thonia (proclaimed insane by the Kindarans) drove the population into a religious frenzy, to rise again and again against the Kindaran troops until only a few thousand common people remained and the city was reduced to a ruin. Rather than accept that the city could not be defended, King Thain decided to see it destroyed before it was taken. Some of the remaining lords and ladies of surrounding rural C'thonian regions chose to bring their lands under the Kindaran banner of their own free will rather than subject their people to a similar fate. So fell the realm of C'thonia.

At the end of the C'thonian war it was hoped that Kindara would enjoy a time of peace guided by the great High Lady Tissaphernes. But it was not to be. Only a short time later, Kindara found itself at war with the few territories of Cathay that remained after internal divisions had split their realm to form Toupellon. Following some unpleasantness in which a trader from Cathay had been thought to have tried to threaten the Kindaran Duke Leofric, the armies marched. Much like the war against C'thonia, Cathay found itself hopelessly outmatched. The siege of the capital city of Azros only lasted a few days before it fell. Most Kindarans felt relief that it had not been a repeat of the siege of Hatdhes. So soon after the fall of C'thonia, Kindara found itself responsible for the end of Cathay.

After these two wars in such a short space of time, Kindara turned to a time of peace and introspection. Some nobles were uneasy that a realm that had been founded on peace and learning had come to be responsible for the end of two other realms, one after the other. Other nobles simply felt that Kindara was struggling to come to terms with such a rapid expansion and the new territories that it had gained. The highly respected High Lady Tissaphernes, feeling that she had brought Kindara to greatness having guided it to take control of most of the south of the Far East, decided to step down from the throne. In her place arose Edmund, crowned as High Lord.

Following the wars, Kindara largely withdrew from the wider political matters of the Far East. But fate was stirring again to the north, where the young realm of Toupellon was being torn apart by internal divisions. Toupellon soon fell of its own accord and the new realm of Sorraine was born from the wreakage. Eventually, the remaining regions of Toupellon were reformed to create a new realm with an old name - Cathay.

Some time after the rise of this new Cathay, their King Galiard asked to make a state visit to the Kindaran capital of Masahakon. Great expectations surrounded the visit, and it was hoped that new treaties would be signed that would secure Kindara's northern borders. On his arrival in Masahakon with a retinue of Cathayan nobility, King Galiard was welcomed as a friend and days of feasting followed. Things seemed to be going well enough until, on the night before Galiard was set to return to Cathay, a rogue Kindaran assassin by the name of Victor von Neuman crept into Galiard's bed chamber and tried to stab him. Galiard fled immediately, claiming that Kindara had violated the customs of hospitality.
