Norland brutality in Melmoor By Relkin Sypher November 28th '07

Norland has retaken the region of Melmoor. Peasents fleeing the region told of Norland troops ransacking villages and farms. Those loyal to Minas Ithil are presumed to have fled or been killed by the murderous Norland soldiers. Hundreds of peasents, former citizens of Norland were killed, many in defense of their family and possessions.

An effort to repel the Norlanders was lead from Mansbridge but the effort fell short and was unable to prevent the takeover from continuing.

Meanwhile, in Mansbridge a Norlander assassin is suspected in the deaths of several guards.

Collapse of Abington By Relkin Sypher November 23th '07

The short-lived republic of Abington seems doomed to join Redspan in its fate. The republic only retains control of 3 regions and seems fated to merge with one of the realms that it birthed, Suville or Caergoth.

With the destruction of Abington that leaves Cagilan Empire as the largest and strongest realm in all of Atamara. How the Cagilan Empire chooses to use this power remains to be seen.

Update on Eston-Falasan war and other news By Relkin Sypher November 19th '07

Eston and Falasan have changed their diplomatic status to neutral. This appears to be part of the developing peace agreement currently taking place there.

Also, red clad men selling pancakes have been seen in the streets of Shanandoah and elsewhere in the kingdom. The reach of these pancake merchants has apparently reached the highest levels of the government with some sighted in the High Marshall's offices.

End of Eston-Falasan War and other news By Relkin Sypher November 17th '07

Word has reached Minas Ithil that the Eston-Falasan war is coming to an end. All details are not known but apparently Falasan will return the region of Amdor to Eston. Some speculation is that the Cagilan Empire is somehow involved in the end of hostilities. Of course, it remains to be seen how this will affect the war between Norland and Minas Ithil. However, as long as both sides honor the current treaty that limits the conflict to our two realms the effect should be minimal. Regardless, we are glad to see that it will end fighting between two of our allies, Talerium and Falasan.

Also this week war broke out to the south. ASI declared war on Abington and attacked the city of Riverholm. The Duchy of Suville then split from Abington with the duchy of Narville joining the new realm. One of the first acts of the realm of Suville was to ally themselves with Norland. With the departure of these two duchies, Abington is a shadow of its former self, controlling only 5 regions some of which are not even connected.

The Long March to Victory By Relkin Sypher November 15th '07

Minas Ithil continues to outshine the ragged Norland forces. In the past week, Melmoor has been brought under Minas Ithil rule. The people there welcomed the change over to our rule and have welcomed our forces. Melmoor was apparently unhappy with Norland's rule, their neighbors to the north in Uforth having rebelled from Norland. Lord Cochrane has been named Count of Melmoor.

Soon after Melmoor was taken from Norland's rule the drums of Norland's army could be heard as they once again attacked the walls of Mansbridge only to be repelled once again.

To the west, our forces successfully broke through the gates of the fort in Elost and defeated the forces there. Several skirmishes have occurred as a takeover was started in Elost. In the end our takeover attempt was disrupted this morning despite a rousing victory over the Norland forces. Norland had 346 troops including some drunken peasants upset with our takeover against our forces numbering just under 300 men. The battle ended with Norland casualties of 296 wounded or slain versus Minas Ithil casualties of 134. The Hero Arctus Acies Dux Ducis of Norland was slain in the battle as Minas Ithil forces overran the Norland forces.

Investigation opened in prisoner death (updated) By Relkin Sypher November 4th '07

Drustan 'the mighty' of Norland has died while in custody. Drustan was being held prisoner after being captured in Norland's attack on Mansbridge. Drustan Andrasta was brother to one of Norland's former Generals and current Prime Minister, Ceowfyr Andrasta. Drustan is reported to have declared his loyalty to Minas Ithil before his death. The Arch Priestess, Countess Katherine Yorke, is currently investigating the circumstances of his death.

Attached is a letter reporting the incident from the Head Jailor: Jailors Report

Arch Priestess Katherine Yorke has completed her investigation into the death of Drustan Andrasta. It can be found in the attached letter: Katherines Report

New Lord of Mansbridge appointed By Relkin Sypher November 4th '07

Sir Grahm Leafwalker, has been appointed Marquis of Mansbridge. Sir Grahm has been been a long serving member of Minas Ithil and the York Journal is of course supportive of his appointment. The people of Mansbridge are sure to benefit from his just and wise leadership.

The Defense of Mansbridge By Relkin Sypher November 3st '07

Mansbridge is now under the control of Minas Ithil. Despite Norland's weakened position they still rallied their forces for a siege to remove us from Mansbridge. The first attack was by Prime Minister Peny, who rushed bravely ahead of his comrades and reached the walls half a day before anyone else. He was wounded and many of his men cut down near the gates of Mansbridge. The main thrust of the attack then came yesterday morning with 35 Norland Troopleaders attacking (761 Inf, 125 Arch, 92 Cav, 32 SF) and 46 defending Minas Ithil forces (790 Inf, 8 MI, 66 Arch, 119 Cav, 14 SF). At least 6 Norland troopleaders were captured and 10 wounded including Ceowfyr Andrasta, who was elected to be Prime Minister of Norland in place of the wounded Prime Minister Peny. One Norland troopleader was slain, Olaf Janssen, Knight of Brackhead.

The attackers were successfully repelled, with Norland suffering heavy casualties. In the fierce combat of that battle the walls of Mansbridge were severely damaged. A palisade around the Minas Ithil encampment still remains but the Moat and Bailey will need repairs in order to be used again.

A third small skirmish also occurred, ending with minimal casualties among Minas Ithil forces and a few more Norlanders wounded in the fight.

In a side note, the region of Uforth displeased with Norland's rule has overthrown the local government officials there. The local peasantry seems to believe they can do a better job of governing themselves.
