Arch Priestess Katherine's Report

I have discovered that this story was not entirely correct. It seems Leonard added some facts, and left out some facts.

Events describing his escape were true, as well as his fall and injury. I investigated the site of his fall, and it was evident that some blood was lost from a wound on Drustan’s head. The wound is on the back of his head, just below the skull.

However, one guard on duty has told me, in strict confidence, events continued as such:

The wound was ignored, even though Drustan could not even stand on his own feet. He was thrown back into his cell, and kicked a few times by the guards that returned him to his cell.

He did ask for me a few hours later, and did speak to Leonard, the Head Jailor. Drustan asked to become part of the realm, but the guard overheard the conversation, and he also heard Drustan declare he was the God of Bears, wished to return to his garden in Barad Riel, and apparently acted as a dog, including trying to urinate in the corner. The guard told me, it was obvious even to him that Drustan was not in his right mind. Drustan also continued to bleed from the head.

Leonard, at that time, made sure Drustan got medical attention, and had Drustan moved to Squall’s cell. Leonard then confessed, as I presented the evidence I gathered, that the story of Drustan’s death was not entirely correct.

Apparently, Leonard entrusted 2 guards to take Drustan to his cell. The guards mocked him, pushed him, and hit him a few times. At that time, Drustan regained some of his senses and demanded a sword so he could kill the two guards in fair battle. The guards laughed at him, and as they did, Drustan unsheathed one sword from a guard, slashed the second guard in the neck, drove the sword threw the armored chest of the now defenseless guard.

As other guards rushed down the hall, they came upon a bloodied and unstable Drustan. Screaming for Valhalla, Drustan charged the guards. They set their swords, and Drustan impaled himself onto the swords and pikes that were held before the guards.

He never attempted to swing his sword.

I hope Drustan has found his place in Valhalla with his brothers.
