History
Zebulon Mercer is the pater primus of the Mercer family. Zebulon raised his children on the family estate in Hegado in the Ash Sea Islands on Atamara. The primary values that he tried to instill in his children were those of calm, thorough investigation, the importance of measurement and mathematics, and subservience to the Great Serpeant Magnus. As his children made their fortunes away from home, Zebulon aged and ASI suffered from hard times. Eventually, the successful Charles Mercer had the family home moved to the city of Twillen in Mesh on Beluaterra.
The Second Generation
Archibald Mercer
The eldest son, Archibald stays in ASI as the lord of Lerss, Grand Poobah of the DP Brotherhood, sponsor of the Serpent's Fist army, and mentor to younger nobles. He was appointed Banker of ASI, and optimized the food transfer system before retiring from the position at the onset of a devastating war.

Darla Mercer
Darla is not officially recognized as a member of the family by the rest of the second generation, though she claims the surname. She wandered the lands of Beluaterra, battling monsters and other unholy creatures until earning her nobility and now preaches for the New Way of the Dragon on Beluaterra.
