Part 1: Background Information
Characters
Scion Calanar- Currently a warrior of Nighthelm, in the Far East. He is the hero of this tale and is also The Black Wolf. He was born in Todtpiz of the Grand Lodge of Lunaria, in the Far East.
The Wolf- see Scion Calanar
Mark- Friend and body guard of Scion. They grew up together, and when Scion became a trader he offered to be his body guard.
Part Two: The Story
Scion was traveling north towards Lasanar. He had just gotten an opportunity of a life time. He was to pick up an order of rare spices found in the Lasanar region. As he thought about this he smiled to himself despite the rain that was pouring down. Things were going well. He was becoming a great success.
"Sir? You seem to be the only one smiling in this weather." "Sorry I was thinking about how much those spices will be worth down south. It'll be great enough that I can give you all a nice bonus." "Well, that's the best news I've heard all day."
They continued on for several hours before the borders of Lasanar became visible.
"There it is Lenamaziel, and the beginnings of Lasanar. Let's rest at an inn. We all could use the break."
"I hear that."
"Could use a break."
"About time. He's going to work us into the ground."
"What was that? I can easily make you sleep in the stables."
"Nothing sir."
"I thought so."
Later that night at the inn Scion and his men were enjoying their respite and were eating and drinking merrily. After a couple of beers Scion began to listen to catch bits of what information he could.
"Did you hear...and then he said..."
"No...lyin'?
"Wonder who they are?"
"Probably a bunch of Mercs... Think...money?"
"Wouldn't be here...they didn't"
Scion found it amusing to be considered a mercenary. That was something he'd never do.
"Well boys don't drink too much. We're getting up early tomorrow. We've got a ways to go to get to the capital."
