Uforth, ancestral home of the Arflanders, is a place where the snow never melts. Its people are hard working and dedicated to serving; most make their living through root vegetable farming, reindeer hunting or badger baiting.

Historically, many of the Arflanders would proceed south to the border with Norland on the first day of every month and jeer at the Norlanders for their silly "elections." Occasionally blows were exchanged, but for the most part the Norlanders would simply trade insults for a while, then go back home. Now that Norland no longer exists, the Arflanders celebrate the beginning of each month with a day of sullen drinking and grumbling about the "good old days" of constant war and strife.
