He pulled it out of the sack and looked at it. It was a big white shield with a silver edge and a grey Rhino on the middle.

The only signs anything had seen combat was the blood on the tip of his staff and on his chest. He sees a maid enter with some water for Elladar and asks her for some too. She heads off to find some. A minute later she returned and handed Arthur the bucket. Arthur sets about cleaning his equipment and waits for Valens to return from speaking with the stranger.

The maid soon returns and gives the bucket to Arthur. Soon, everyone who had been part of the battle came in. Elladar finishes cleaning off his axe, and startes on his gauntlets. Soon everyone is seated. The man who Elladar had saved came through a side door with a sack in his hand. He sits in a chair and starts looking through his sack of equipment. Elladar smiles slightly at the sight of the stranger's axe. Soon after, Valens walks in through the side door and explains how he had gotten a letter from his brother right as the beasts arrived. Elladar sits there for a minute thinking, still cleaning the blood off of his gauntlet. He wondered slightly how Valens' brother was fairing against beasts on the East Continent. "I promise I'll never go to the East Continent as long as I live," Elladar promised to himself. The beasts were increadibly tough and he didn't want to have to fight them every day. After a minute more of thought, Elladar asks,'' "Where will we be going to? I'd like to know if we're going to be able to walk freely, or if we're going to have to sneak around towns in enemy lands."

He carefully lays out the contents on the floor before him; a heavy bearskin cloak--embroidered with a deep purple trim, a purple tabard with the visage of a bear roaring, and a set of guantlets made of a gleaming metal he was unfamiliar with and a dark heavy leather which he assumed was bear as well. Finally laid within was a pair of sheathed weapons.

But then it dawned on him the material they were made of -- Bears claws and bones, and the shear size of the beast these had come from staggered him. A pale bone blade - curved wickedly -- could almost pass as a Dirk. This was claw of the beast and seemed almost impossibly sharp. The second was fashioned from the beasts Femur, a light axe with a sharp thrusting tip and crafted with edges meant to catch blades and turn them aside.

We were training outside when they showed up. We managed to fight them off but they were very tough. This staff that Valens gave me can shoot fireballs and it took two and a slash in the stomach for one to die. After they died we went inside. Once there, two more people joined our group. We are now gathering what we need and then meeting at the front gate. I don't need much. I'll stop and pick up some food on the way to the gate but that's about all I'll need I think.

Apparently, many people say it before conducting a meeting. Since you have always been the most knowledgable of the family, he wants to know what it means.

I wonder if that phrase actually has some kind of magical property or if the people just say it as tradition. It would be handy for sneaking through enemy lands if it was magical." He takes another swig of his ale and hears one of the nearby peasants talking about him. The peasants all look at Elladar and he nods to comfirm the romurs. Nearby peasants start to edge away. Elladar is soon on his tenth mug of ale, he passes out a little bit later.''

| − | Naoko took the axe. Naoko thought to herself "cheez it is an odd looking axe." It was like two double battle axes joined at the handle and it was made of a some sort of strange mettle lighter than she thought possible. It was a dull grey colour but seem to give an orange glow.

It was black with orange streaks that would appear to move and form claws or cheetahs mouths but it was too fast too tell if you were imagining it or not. There was a few other things in the sack which she was sure would come into use when the time needed it.

The figure comes into view. Elladar skids to a stop on the wet grass. The figure was one of his sisters. His sister Ránëwén was standing there, head down as she mouthed something. Elladar hears footsteps on the soft ground behind him. He looks around to see Ránëwén's twin sister, Corunes, standing there. "What's going on?" Elladar asks.

The knife is pulled out and Elladar falls to the ground. He looks up as everything starts to fade black. He sees Corunes standing over him holding a bloody knife in her hand. Soon Ránëwén comes into what little view he has that isn't black, she is mouthing words again. As his vision blacks out he hears Ránëwén's voice again, louder than ever, "Beware the one with the blue tipped tail!"

| − | Elladar was leaning against a tree, taking a much needed rest from moving bodies around. He was thinking, "Why would Arthur's new robe and staff be here? All that's here is bodies, lots of bodies." He let his thoughts wander as he gazed out over the masses of bodies strewn across the field. "If Arthur's new robe is out here somewhere, it would probably be on one of the bodies. But then again, if his new robe is better than the one he has now, then the person wearing it wouldn't be lying on this field in a pool of their own blood like the rest of these men." Elladar looks around to see if anyone had better luck. Suddenly, he hears a low rumbling noice coming from the other side of a clump of trees. "That sounded like the growl of a beast," he thought. He pulls out his axe and gets ready for a fight. He quickly walks over to the trees and starts investigating the noise. After a couple minutes of looking around, Elladar can't find anything. He walks through a gap in the trees. The sound gets louder. He looks around, and sees Valens, Dennis, and Naoko standing near a cave with their weapons drawn. The growling sound is coming from the cave. Elladar walks up and asks, "What's going on?"

Arthur was surprised but managed to dodge just in time. He swung his staff and killed the man just like he had killed the monster, with a slash across the chest. The man fell and Arthur had begun to look some more, thinking that he needed a better defense than just dodging. All of the sudden, a glow appeared on his staff. Looking down, he saw the phrase skölir nosu fra sverdar which meant "shield us from swords." "Just what I needed," he thought. After that, Arthur had continued looking, finally ending up right where he was taking a rest.

Elladar notices that the beasts they are fighting now are the same as before, he knew how to deal with them. The nearest one charged towards him, swinging a humungous axe. Elladar was about to dodge the blow, when he remembered that Dennis was right behind him. He quickly brings his axe up to block. It works, unfortunatly, the beast's blow knocks him off his feet. "These beasts are stronger than the ones before," he thought. He was about to get back up, when his sisters' words burned through his thoughts, "Beware the one with the blue tipped tail!" Elladar looks up and sees Dennis standing over him, holding his sword high above his head. Elladar could see the fire of a battle frenzy in his eyes. It is then, that Elladar notices that the tip of the shark tail, on Dennis' armor, had changed from white to blue. Finally the criptic warning made sense, Dennis was going to betray them all. Elladar was about to punch Dennis in the leg, and rip through steel, flesh, and bone with his spiked gauntlet, when Dennis lunged at the beast that had knocked Elladar down. "Not today, but what about tomorrow?" Elladar wonders. He quickly pushes himself off of the ground and starts fighting again, being sure to keep an eye on Dennis at all times, just in case.
