Two days ago, the combined armies of Tara, Darka, Talerium, Carelia and Eston besieged the ASI Stronghold of Aja. Defending the critical region were the recently arrived reinforcements from Falasan, roughly half their Army.

With 1284 Inf, 55 MI, 355 Arch, 323 Cav, 75 SF attacking 646 Inf, 362 Arch, 100 Cav behind level 5 walls, the outcome was still in doubt on the eve of battle. Large portions of the liberating armies fell victim to the Infiltrators stationed in the region. 4 Nobles were assassinated and many more were delayed thru sabotage. Regardless, enough troops arrived to give the advantage to our forces.

We have just gotten word that a major assault has overrun Ash'rily, capital of the Ash Sea Islands. An estimated 30,000 CS Army of Caergoth/Carelia defeated ASI's 15,000 CS defenders in a titanic battle. Damage to both armies and the fortifications have been massive.

On the eve of Dictator Lister's Declaration of War, a small detachment of Taran Troops invaded the ASI region of Rogeshore. Not wishing to overwhelm the 5,000 CS ASI force, Tara sought honorable battle with equal forces. However, even that was too much and ASI fled from us. Three ASI units were too slow and were destroyed.

As anyone can see in the map, we are doing very well. There is almost no resistance now when our army liberates Rabbit regions. Peasants welcome Tara with open arms. Both Barad Falas and Tucha are surrounded, there people starving while their Lords flee. As I write this, I look out my window and witness the massive army gathering for the siege of Barad Falas. Once that persecuted city is free, Falasan will be broken.

In an effort to support the just cause of the tiny breakaway realms of Suville and Caergoth, the realm of Tara has just declared the existence of war between ourselves and ASI. Armies from Carelia, Talerium and Eston have recognized our just purpose and have joined us. We have also hired the feared mercenaries from Darka to aid our war.
+
One of the early questions in this war has always been the early warning the Ash Sea Islands received during the massing of our armies at their border. We have later learned that a traitor from Suville leaked the liberation plans to our enemies, prolonging the war and suffering of ASI.

Many may wondered why so many realms would take this action. The reason, as I perceive it, is religion. The ASI religion of Magna Serpentism has been aggressive in its pursuit of converts. Priests from ASI, Falasan and the Principality of Magnus have ranged far and wide without respect of territorial rights or the wishes of the people involved. Now they pay the price for their hubris.
+
Clearly, Sir Damian Bedwyr, Duke of Stoneville can be none other than the traitor in question. HE made ASI suffer and, indeed, the argument can be made that the Falasan War is his fault as well.

Joy fills the streets of Foda today as news of the handover of Tarasac reached the city. The small ceremony occurred in the presence of Lister, Dictator of Tara and Vengeance, Prime Minister of the Cagilan Empire. Select witnesses were there to officiate the event among them Ottar, the soon-to-be new Duke of Tarasac.

The pressures of war have forced all available staff to the frontlines, abandoning their journalism duties for the greater good. As the tide of war turns our way, we have now found the time to continue our work here at the paper.

This fulfills the promise the Cagilan Empire gave so long ago. They have returned our home to us.

Upsurge of Monsters Delay Advance!
September 8th, 2008

Traitor Identified at Last?
September 1st, 2008

One of the early questions in this war has always been the early warning the Ash Sea Islands received during the massing of our armies at their border. We have later learned that a traitor from Suville leaked the liberation plans to our enemies, prolonging the war and suffering of ASI.

Clearly, Sir Damian Bedwyr, Duke of Stoneville can be none other than the traitor in question. HE made ASI suffer and, indeed, the argument can be made that the Falasan War is his fault as well.

The Tara Times will seek to confirm this speculation and get back to you.

Falasan Inquirer Admits Fault!
September 2nd, 2008

I have just finished reviewing past issues of our brother journalists across the divide and I have come to a stunning article...

Falasan admits they are to blame for the war!

Indeed. In a fine display of honesty, the most recent edition of the Falasan Newspaper freely admits that it was their ineptitude and foolishness that has caused all this mayhem. Thousands of deaths and countless villages could have been spared had the stubborn Rabbit King shared the views of his reporters.

The Tara Times urges the Falasan Inquirer to promote an unconditional surrender among their people. This is the only humane action in the face of their nation's culpability in recent events.
