Frankly, I'd wager you'd be able to get alot more support from Eston and from other realms if you changed the name. As it is, it seems like a good RP idea, but putting the name of your character in the title is going to torpedo it. Since your character isn't, say, a Duke, a former Ruler, a former Judge, and well-known in other realms, to potential students, and more importantly, potential professors, it just seems like an unjustified power trip. Why should Character A, who is a former Count, Duke, Ruler, Judge, and who's name is recognized by every ruler on Atamara teach at a school with someone else's name on it? Where is this going to be founded? I have a Judge character that is looking to 'retire' to become a law professor (maybe with a shipwreck dumping him somewhere en-route). If he could somehow be invited, it would make some great RP (and he'd show up, eventually). AlexTurner 20:58, 26 August 2006 (CEST)

based in

Hopefully Eston with consent of the good king. This will be the worlds first offical University of science and philosophy of mankind. The founder will be dafayo vashmere who is planning to bring a new civil age to the world.

Please keep an eye on this if you are interested , since He will need teachers and professors with degrees in mentioned feilds.

Thanks.

I think I'll probably get involved as well... though my character would probably end up being at odds with much of the rest of the staff if only modernist and posmodern philosophy is taught. They all take slightly more traditional lines of thought, slightly more conservative. Vellos 22:36, 26 August 2006 (CEST)

I'll take a look if 1. My character does go to Atamara and 2. I have time to walk halfway across the continent.--The1exile 22:43, 26 August 2006 (CEST)

This is a really unique and interesting idea. I will likely get my character involved if it is created. And if all goes well with my current plan, you may be looking at a southern campus. I have only one suggestion, make sure that the courses are all Middle Ages-ified. For example, I belive chemistry (alchemy if you will) was mainly focused on gunpowder, turning lead and other cheap substances into gold, and making simple alloys (bronze). And things like "bioethics" wouldnt exist yet, nor would we use terms like, "modern" to describe philosophical systems, most likely. Vellos 00:03, 27 August 2006 (CEST)

well bioethics would be envoled when teaching of leeching wounds, or maggot use, or breeding animals to sick results to make messed up hybrids. Modern would be used since all forms of english seem to call "current" time "modern"...if that isnt enough, this university will coin the term then, declaring this the coming of the "modern age"...now...here...with the advent of school. This university basically wishes to put an end to a dark age of man.

Also yes, nothing would be non-medeval. Such things just couldnt be, and would directly confuse what this RP really should be and ruin the idea.

Think- Socrates meets Da vinchi (sp?..bah screw it.)

One more thing. The building of such a thing would be a huge in-game task. And posistions in the university will be open to those of the world who prove to be very suitable for said positions. We are gunna need some bookworm fools in here! so think about it...this will be ground breaking stuff in the realm of world culture of philosophy and science. Vashmere 01:03, 27 August 2006 (CEST)

Shouldn't the acroynm be "DUSA"?

YES...and thank you!

Onliana just joined Eston. She will DEFINATELY help out, and teach almost anything. She's an accomplished musician and culinary expert and, being a Vellos, is also well educated in history, culture, tactics, espionage, and philosophy. Vellos 17:54, 27 August 2006 (CEST)

Studying/researching history could be so much fun. Traveling the continents conducting interviews in a search for the last living member of a long lost bloodline. Also, if anyone who played/is playing SpellMaster, the could teach "ancient history" and tell of the overthrow of the counsels. And if this isn't founded is Eston I vow to find a place for it because this would send RPing in this game through the roof! My rambling is now finished. Fredrich 02:50, 29 August 2006 (CEST)

Well I noticed no such thing has been done. Now I'm hoping to get it built before sumone else does it. Its Dafyo's baby, and he has the money to make it. There is also a rank system thats going to really be done differenly.

It wont be like other guilds, and the ranks will not be ranks, they will be degrees. Also, the degrees are only honored my Kingdoms or realms that actually credit them and the University. Imagin being a doctor with 5 degrees in acient history, but then you enter a nation and they just see it as some "guild" Pssssh! It will be fun...and Dafyo is educated and rich....I really hope to open this soon...but there is problems. Who wants to make a Vashmerien a lord? Huh? I ask ya? Bingo...
