Dissention in the ranks?

The OR Press can only laugh, for it seems that now Avamar has been tainted by the evil and the ambitious nature of the Rogala's. They hold no allegiances, and only wish for power. Now they can feel the frustration, annoyance and hate for those who would descrate a realm created by their own hand.

New Avamar is born...

"Avamar Selective" as it has been named now, took with it the regions of Stora and Alvaret, gutting the already tiny nation of Kalmar by 6000 men and women, as well as its richest city. The heinous nature of this action has not been well received in Old Rancagua, however it does only prove the ambitious and callous nature of the Avamarian. For the entirety of their hegemony over the islands to the north, they have claimed that they were Kalmarians, and cared only for the well-being of Kalmar. But now they have sliced off its founding city to fulfill their long desire to carve a realm of their own from others.

It is the firm wish of the Old Rancagua Press that all Nobles with Avamarian connections depart to their new realm, and allow the Kalmarians to govern themselves again, and what is left of their realm. For the parasitic nature of Lalakis the Tyrant and his Lala-keys has done more damage than could ever have been imagined. We can only hope that they have now been shaken free of his brainwashing and will march with us to reclaim the lands they stole. For if the situation is right, it has been widely believed in the realm that the war with Kalmar should end, and alliance be sought (so long as they expel all Avamarians from their midst.

With this turn of events, the Old Rancaguan military continues its plans to once again invade the region of Stora and bring about the destruction of this new realm and its reclaimation for Kalmar. No doubt it is unfortunate that our brothers in Fontan and Sirion are unable to aid us, for they of all people will know the damage, and have even more reason than we, to hate Avamar and her nobles. The OR Press will keep you informed.

Defeat in Stora...

This, the third invasion of the isles was even less successful than the previous invasion. The situation in the Old Rancaguan High Command has become somewhat tense as heated discussions over the direction of the military were held. Some have even called for High Marshal Johnny's resignation from office.

The most recent attack was once more fraught with difficulty as the regrettably efficient and highly trained infiltrators of Kalmar were again successful in wreaking havoc on the roads and sea-lanes which run from Kazan to Stora. Some nobles reported delays of up to 8 hours due to blocked roads, changed signs and strange tree formations. As a result, the original Old Rancaguan armada of 17,000 CS, some 1,500 men, arrived in waves against the entrenched defenders resulting in overwhelming defeat.

The first wave of some 4,000 CS was massacred, however despite this defeat, Lord Johnny decided to continue the assault, resulting in a further defeat as only 6,000 CS arrived of the 13,000 remaining. It was at this point that upon the insistence of the Military Advisory Council, Lord Johnny ordered the retreat of the remaining forces who will now form the core of the new forces being amassed in Kazakh and Ashforth.

The next invasion of Stora is scheduled for sometime in the next two weeks, the implications behind this assault are now very clear to the High Command, whose leadership is now being questioned by the Noble of Old Rancagua. It seems, that should defeat once more be inflicted, regrettably Lord Johnny may be forced to step down. The OR Press will keep you posted...

The war continues with Kalmar, more death and destruction in Perdan

The imminent secession of the true rulers of Kalmar, from old Kalmar, to form a New Avamar in the Chaos Temple, has only given the Old Rancaguan Council, and consquently the High Command a renewed level of zeal to finish the job and bring an end to Lalakis' tyranny.

Amongst the ranks of Old Rancagua are many disillusioned and formerly brainwashed Kalmarians who, with the recent discovery of Avamar's plans to split the realm have joined against them to prevent, or at least avenge, this atrocity. Let us hope that in the days to come, the OR Press will have news of a successful invasion of Stora and a consquent liberation of the Isles from Lalakis' iron grip.

In other news, the sea of bones in Bescanon and Woolton had a fresh wetting of blood in the recent days with further large battles occuring the regions. The war with Perdan has turned into a stalemate it seems, with neither side being able to gain an advantage. Will keep you posted with the news as it comes...

The bloodbath that is Bescanon, and Legatus in Perdan?

The region of Bescanon, along with its neighbour Troyes have been the sites of the largest battles in the East Continent in the months since the death of Oligarch. Thousands of brave young Perdanese, Sirionite and Fontanese soldiers have met countless times in merciless slaughter, led remorselessly on by their Nobles, some of which who have also fought and died on those fields.

The OR Press can only marvel at the sheer unyielding wills of all realms involved and, though we here believe that the Perdanese do deserve some modicum of punishment for their actions in the past, perhaps the price is too high to pay? Sometimes, compromise is the only way for an ending and a victory to be achieved.

In other news it seems that our esteemed friend, Legatus DeSyrr, former Chief Editor of our infamous nemesis paper, the Kalmarian Chronicles has abandoned the realm he loved so much and departed for Perdan. Perhaps he finally realised that Avamar are the true rulers of the Isles? Perhaps he shook off the brainwashed crap which Lalakis filled in his ears, saw the truth and was ashamed? I suppose we will never know, but we can always hope that this is the case!
