Background

The Minex family had little to do with politics for several generations, and their secretive ways brought them no small amount of suspicion. Although no solid proof has ever materialized, there are legends they may have once consorted with dark and forbidden powers. The heads of the family have denied such allegations as superstition.

The late Samuel Minex was the first of his line to find his fortune, and is widely regarded as the original head of the family. He served for many years as a merchant trader across southern Atamara and eventually began a very profitable olive trade. The family now commands a small fleet of merchant ships and holds trade contracts across many realms and islands.

The family was founded within Atamara in the Region of Stoneville and had close ties with the Realm of Abington. After a generation of noble service the family estate was moved to larger lands in the Far East in the Region of Zarimel, with renewed times to the Realm of Cathay.

Devlin

The first of the Minex line to swear fealty was Devlin, knighted under the crown of King Carriantor and sworn into service of Duke Ralph The Thirteenth. A dark and brooding young man, he was prone to sullen fits of introspection that could leave others with the impression he was antisocial and aloof. However his close friends knew him as an inspired noble who had taken up the sword to bring justice to the world.

During July 2006, Abington came under attack from a collation of realms under the direction of the Ash Sea Islands. Forced to abandon their quest to extinguish Tara, their siege forces were ordered to turn around at the gates of Foda. After a long and painful march home, Devlin and the Minex Macabre were at the forefront of the attack in Sudfern which broke the back of the attacking armies of Talerium and Minas Ithil. Although the Macabre were completely decimated from a cavalry charge, Devlin heroically continued the fight until the day was won.

As a hero of minor renown he served his home in Stoneville under Duke Grand Poopah, until finally falling in combat in June of 2007.

Regulus

Regulus was the younger brother of Devlin, and the second in the family to leave home. His travels sent him to the East Continent, first in service of Sirion. The more scholarly of the two, he had a great passion for reading and philosophy. Unhappy over the way in which the campaign against Perdan was being waged, Regulus traveled to nearby Yssaria where he served as a knight of Isadril under Duke Rackir. After a profitable career as a merchant he finally retired shortly after Yssarai fell to Caligus. In his old age he lives a a life of more scholarly pursuits and continues to have an active hand in managing the family merchant business.

Dozer

The young cousin to Devlin and Regulus, he found little passion in the studies the family scribes tried to impress upon him. He took leave of his studies as soon as he was able, and set sail for the distant Far East Islands.

His head filled with tales of grand adventure, he arrived in Ethiala looking to join the Alliance war effort against Arcaea. Quickly dispirited by the realm's apartment lack of interest in both war and himself, he traveled across the border to Lasanar where he eventually became a knight of Ossaet under Duke Galiard. Finally afforded an opportunity for war, he gladly marched to battle against Arcaea.

A week of easy victories quickly filled him with overconfidence, and it was with reckless abandon he charged the ambush set against their vanguard. This lead to his first real taste of war when his command was cut down around him and he was captured by the forces of Arcaea. After a week to cool his heels in the Remton prison, he returned back to Lasanar a more cautious and humble man.

After a bewildering turn of events, he found himself named Count of Isular where he slowly began to learn the pains and parlance of land ownership and court politics. After the secession of Colasan by the traitor Doyle, he assisted the realm in recapturing the lands subverted by the Chaos Requiem and was eventually named Duke of Colasan once the city was reclaimed.

He served Lasanar as Duke of Colasan, and assisted in the long war against the Antoza Commonwealth. The war ended with the destruction of the Commonwealth and the founding of the Kingdom of Cathay. Not long after the Commonwealth was destroyed, Dozer is said to have disappeared. Some accounts say he was murdered by an assassin, while other whispered accounts say he went on a pilgrimage against the gods and was struck down for heresy.

Havelon

The son of Devlin and the first of the second generation of the Minex family to swear fealty. Took up service in the Far East in the kingdom of Cathay not long after the family estates where moved there. Serves Cathay as a Knight of Taop under the command of Duke Merlin Quincey, High Marshal of the Crown of Cathay.
