The Beginnings
The Families of the Khans originate form the deserts of Talerium and once lived as desert nomads, they were said to of been decedents of a great desert chief named Zachariah lord of the sands. Chief Zachariah was lord of Chocxal and is said to be the first Uniter of all the other tribes of the Talerium deserts though this is only speculation. Zachariah’s reign as grand Chief was a short one ranging at lest a mere 2 years, he made many enemies and no allies which eventually was his undoing, in the war with an Empire to the sought he was banished and replaced by the captain of the army. Though his reign was short it was a prospers one aside form the wars. Zachariah had three sons each one was epically skilled in a unique way or skill, the eldest brother Zackary Khan was a brave and zealous warrior with unmatched swordsmanship, the next oldest Drayus Khan was a genius with unparalleled strategical capabilities and a great tactician, and the youngest of all Curualak Khan who had an uncanny ability to had in the shadows. When Zachariah was exiled along with his family they went into hiding disappearing into the deserts of Talerium. it was said well in hiding Zachariah decided to wander abet from the camp his family had made in the mountains of Talerium to hide, it was on this night that Zachariah was confronted with a daemon of considerable power, Zachariah believing it was nothing more then a undead champion battled it to insure it would not wonder into their camp, however the creature was to skilled for Zachariah alone, luckily as he began to falter his three sons heard the commutation and joined there farther in battle just in time to save him form death, it is said that in the melee Zack succeeded in mortally wounding the monster now reviled to be a daemon of significant power. But before it could be finished off it offered them a deal, if the khans would safe guard his sword the Thanatos then his sprite would bless them and watch over them. However as part of the deal if ever they lost the sword or it was given away then they would be cursed forever and there seed would surely die. After much deliberation they agreed, the daemon's soul then was merged with the blade granting power to whoever would wield it. Part of the agreement was that the sword be “feed” it however could only feed off souls gained from combat and the blood of enemies as well. Migrating south However during the battle Zachariah was seriously wounded. He laid bed ridden for 3 weeks and then died of his wounds. Before his death he designated Zack to be the protector of Thanatos. When he died his family created a tomb for him in the Desert Mountains of Talerium. With Zachariah dead the Khans had no reason to remain in hiding any more, so lead by Zackary Khan the clans of the khans headed south to the Empire the foe of the his farther with no were else to go. Eventually the clans of the Khans landed in Hidale were they reside to this day.
The Division
However over time the Family started to divide as who should be the new head of the family of the khan. Zackary Khan had the most ligament claim to be head due to the fact he was Zechariahs eldest son, but Drayus Khan had gained a lot of support within the family, so the khans split into to clans each clan Deferent with varying specialties and interest.the Khans of Drayus Khan's Line were Dedicated to scholarly works, science and produced many Politicians, tacticians, and, strategist,well the line of Zackary Khan were masterful warriors of great puissance and martial abilities. Later the youngest son of Zechariah, Curualak Khan being a master of the shadows and sabotage, his line became the main enforcers within the clan of the Khans, skilled assassins who any one within the family of the khans could call upon to do certain “jobs” for them.they were used to great effect during the clan war's.
The Sword and the Curse
Though the clans of the khans were blessed by having the sword Thanatos within their possession they were also however sworn to protect it they knew that losing it would be the end of there kin, so the evil blade was passed down again and again. The clan of Zack was most responsible for taking care of the weapon itself and were the ones that passed it down from farther to son or some times to a brother or cousin depending on the situation. The clan of Drayus was blessed with high intellect so choose to look for ways to better protect the blade and control it though alchemy and science, they were also great breeders of both horses’, falcons and, beast mounts alike, often supplying the warrior arm of the clan with Saur’s mounts, and often providing great stallions for the Clan of Curu’Alak and their assassins. Saur’s are a type of reptilian like monster that are domesticated from a young age, to control their animal instincts the clan of Drayus gave them a special nectar that made them addicted to it making it less likely they would try to escape or attack there care givers since they relied on them for this special nectar, almost like a drug. The clan of Curu’Alak was often active in dealing with those who did not properly obey the oath of the black blade as it began to be called, peacefully if possible but with force if necessary. The clan of Drayus made a tomb that was originally written by Drayus Khan then later added upon by his decedents. However the new keeper of the sword always received a mark on there right hand (or left if he was left handed) that signified he would be the next keeper of the sword. He would usually be given a dream before hand. The pact of the Norsemen house of wolves Following a few years after the division and settlement in the Cagilan Empire, there were a few more wars however the clans of the khans mostly stayed out of them due partly due to the fact it had some discontent towards it for helping to cut of there royal blood in the war of the deserts. However the clans of the khans were not the only family to immigrate here from another realm, the head master of the clan of Zack of the khans named Ezekiel Khan befriended a man named Kim SR. it turned out that Kim SR was also leader of the House of Wolves or also known as the Odin family. They specialized in breeding war hounds as the Khans were in breeding beast mounts so both families decided to have something of a trade agreement the Khans strong beast mounts for the Odin’s war hounds. So a strong bound was built between the two families.
Today
Today most of the clans of the Khans live peacefully along side that of the House of Wolves in Hidale. The clan of Zack now finally have enough gold to promote to higher noble status and support some of there own knights within the Cagilan Empire and aboard. the clan of Curu'Alak however set up their main base in Choxcol, the birth place of their kin.
and the clan of Dray have remained with the Khans organelle nomadic heritage. traveling from place to place collocating history and knowledge.
