'''Braga Hyral''': The much refered to father of Keiichi and Baiko, and the lord of the Hyral Estate in the Far East. According to Keiichi he is hot-tempered, brash, judgmental, cheap, and "generally unlikable". According to Baiko he is a "bit harsh and short fused, but all in all a good, loving father". Appprently he sends Keiichi "guilt letters", as she refers to them, to get her to return home. Although Keiichi says otherwise, she has a certain fear of asking him for gold, and he sends her very little when she does ask, earning him the title of "cheap" form hsi daughter. Other interesting facts: He gave Keiichi her name before she was born, apprently wishing for a son. He is very fond of cats and always keeps 5 or 6 at a time, explaining Baiko's cat fettish. He doesn't drink at all, leaving the world to wonder where Keiichi aquired her extreme tolerance for alcohol.

"Old Man" (Keiichi): An un-named NPC for a couple of reasons, one, I can't think of anything good, two, I think I like it better that way, defining him would take away from the character I think, three, Keiichi gets a certain joy out of calling him "old" all the time.

  • He was once the retainer for Keiichi and Baiko's father, and it has since been revealed that he sometimes stood in for the Lord when he was wounded or otherwise occupied. He, according to his stories, was once a great warrior who participated in many epic battles, which could very well be true seeing how Braga gave him command so often. It is also known that he was the one to give Keiichi her sword training, perhaps his fall from grace according to Braga, which would explain why he was sent on the impossible task of dragging Keiichi back home after she ran away. Somehow he ended up becoming her scribe when he couldn't convince the headstrong girl to return to the Far East. The old man has developed something of a father-tendency towards Keiichi, scolding her when she runs off for hours, always afraid that she'll fall off the high places she always seems to be in, and being weary of her choice in men. Other interesting facts, he hates to be called "old" (so Keiichi makes sure to call him old as often as possible), he has an intense rivalry with Keiichi's fox, Kaya, he enjoys playing off Keiichi's strange phobias (goats, healers, oceans), he does the cooking for the unit, and he often edits Keiichi's letters to put them in proper grammer, as she is said to speak in a strange fashion.

Braga Hyral: The much refered to father of Keiichi and Baiko, and the lord of the Hyral Estate in the Far East.
