Roleplay from Guenevere

Guen looked at the man, who had his back turned to her. She was thankful of this. She took her sword and started to dig through the dirt. Digging down under the surface, low enough so that she could start tunneling her way out. She started to tunnel in the direction of the man. She stopped just before and started to dig downwards again, making it deeper, and up a little bit as to thin down the floor, until it was weak enough to fall through. Once this was all done, she started to fill in her path as best she could. Making sure that the no holes were visible from above. Spreading the dirt around and packing it down to make sure he noticed nothing had happened.

With that, she had to think of how to pull this off. She unsheathed her sword again, but this time she tried to make it so that she was in front of him without turning around. This kept the hole behind him. With her sword at the ready, the man noticed she wanted to try again. He took out his sword, and she started to swing at him violently. She managed to cut him, a small one on his right leg. She was amazed that he wasn't stepping back at all, until she finally got him to. But it wasn't enough. She stepped forward, and lunged her sword, with his block, she let go of her sword, causing her to lose balance, and fell forward. Guen fell into the man, causing him to fall backwards. He landed right on the weak spot, and fell into the hole that Guen had created.

"Hahahahaha! Did you do this? I never would have thought I would fall into a hole. Help me out of here now."

Guen helped him out, and the man held out his hand. She took it and they shook hands.

"Congratulations, you have passed the test. You've outwitted me, and managed to make me laugh. I all of my long years, I haven't ever laughed once. Now that you have passed, I would gladly give you the reward. Oh, and by the way. My name is Lucius."

The man brought her to the door, and used his key on it. The door revealed a small shrine with a small staircase leading to a pedastal. On it was a scroll. The man explained.

"Guen, you have proved your worth. The treasure, is atop that pedastal, go get it and bring it to me."

Guen did so.

"OK, this spell is very very special, and can only be used once. If you mess it up, it will be gone forever, and will never be able to be used again."

"How does it work?"

"First, you must read the scripture aloud on the scroll. Once that is done, you must play the flute, in the order that is given in this scroll. Lastly, you must take the key, and the flute and break them. This is so that if the spell does fail, it can never be found again. Be careful, and good luck."

"Wait! What does it do?!?"

"That is for you to find out. Don't worry it shouldn't be too hard. Read the scripture, but not aloud, then the spell won't be activated."

Then a light surrounded Guen. The light got brighter, until nothing outside could be seen. When she awoke she was in the care of some healers. Almost as if none of this ever happened.

Roleplay from Guenevere

Guen stayed in the care of the healers until her head was healed, but still needed to be bandaged. The cut on her forearm was better also. She stood up and spoke with the healers before she left.

"I've seem to lost a scroll I was carrying, do you know where it is?"

"No, I haven't a clue. When I found you, you weren't holding anything."

"Ok, thank you."

Guen was puzzled, and decided to check her room at the inn. When she got there, all of her things were on the table. Blitz, her sword, armor, arrows, and the scroll was on top. She really wanted to know what the spell did, so she opened it up, and in her mind read the passage:

"In battle you fought, a valiant life lived, now in death, you are lost. Your Spirit seeks the afterlife, to live again, a peaceful life. That was promised, and now it's broken. Come to me, and I will help you. I will put your Spirit in me. Then I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again."

Guen figured it out, just as she finished reading. She was so excited, she ran all the way to the graveyard, remembering the key and the flute. Looking for Aethelmaer's grave, she could hardly keep away her excitement. Finding his grave, she slowly walked up to it, and calmed herself down as much as she could. She didn't want to mess this up, and then never be able to do it again. She knelt down in front of his grave. Speaking aloud this time, her voice echoing in the stillness.

Playing the small song of four notes, making sure each note rang loud and long enough to be heard. Finishing there was only one more thing to do. Closing her eyes, she took the key in her hand, and snapped it in half, the same with the flute. Now, she just waited. But nothing happened. After waiting for a few minutes, she figured she had messed it up, and put her head to the ground, crying aloud. Banging her fists on the ground, her tears just being absorbed into the ground. All of this work, done for absolutely nothing.

Roleplay from Aethelmaer

Aethelmaer was watching Guen, he was so proud of her. Going through all of that just to bring him back. He was watching her recite the script, then the flute that sounded so beautiful, then break it along with the key. She awaited for something to happen, upon nothing she cried. Aethelmaer was trying everything in his power to fulfill her only desire, but alas nothing could be done. He simply continued to watch as she sobbed, and hit the ground. Then, a strange force hit him, and pulled him towards the ground. His vision went blurry, then black, until finally it faded back in again, blurry at first, then it came out clear. The spell had worked, and where his grave had been, it had vanished and there he stood. He checked himself to see if he was fine, and although he had died, the mortal wounds were gone. He looked down at Guen, who was still crying, and took a step closer. He bent down also, and wrapped his arms around her.

"Don't cry. Everything will be fine."

Guen remembered that voice, and slowly looked up, and to her surprise, Aethelmaer was indeed alive again. She couldn't believe it, she was so happy, that she hugged him tight, like she was never going to let him go. He returned the hug, in much the same way, equally happy to see her.

"I was watching you. You've grown up so fast, I'm so proud of you."

"I knew you were still there, I knew you wouldn't leave me!"

They held their embrace for a minute or two, finally stepped back , to get a good look at each other. Aethelmaer hadn't seen Guen since he left to join Tara. They had so much to catch up on. They decided to go to the Wolf's Bane Tavern since it was the closest one. It held so many memories from the tourney and his short stay here in ASI, perfect to reminisce over an ale.
