Ambassador of Perdan,

My family would be furious with me if I turned down any offer of honey. They often prayed to a god that would provide.

I understand the importance of the medicinal benefits of honey, but my men are nonbelievers, and must come first. How can I earn their trust when I have to physically crane my neck to give out orders?

There’s only so much I can explain of what happened. You have nothing to apologize for, I am sorry it brought much worry to you. To be honest, I am not even sure where to start.

More importantly, while I have promised Queen Alyssa to keep the Riverlands safe I have no doubt under her command that the lands will be kept from harm. I have spoken to Knight Oliver recently and I think he is rather kind. Perhaps he would be interested in becoming a steward instead?

As for me, I have no interest in stewarding. I am more curious about what is beyond the borders and would be happy to accompany.

I completely forgot to address your concern about oaths! I am quite pleased with most things but it would be nice to have some chocolates whenever and to share them with my friends.

Recently, I have received a basket of chocolates and candies but was unable to get to them sooner before they were destroyed. I am just rambling at this point- I have no specific requests.

Duke of Danger, Margrave of Mystery? I plan to meet a Lucius after the trip; he mentions about looking forward to throwing me a party soon. I know that he loves music but is he really as eccentric as others say? It would be such a shame to be doubtful of his abilities.

On a more concerning topic, my men might give us unwanted attention and I am not a huge fan of loud confrontation. However, I will also try my best— to do what I can— to ensure that my lord and my lord’s sister will travel safe back home.

Is there something in particular that I should be packing for the voyage? I wonder if fruits would pair well with chocolates.

“Fruits would be excellent. . . and I would not worry about your men giving us unwanted attention, as we will want all of the attention.”

A small insect orbits around a bright light source unknowingly. Pandora had been replaying scenes in her head every so often, the ones about the bodies on the field of Clermont, with each reminder on the upcoming war with the Yssrgards.

Pandora was rather surprised at Kenneth’s words but did not want to further inquire about it; she finds her lord liege to be more courageous than expected and admired him. The ease of confidence Kenneth had expressed gave her a slight boost in morale despite the obvious perilous roads ahead. This was a statement that only death knew or was a calculated risk to be worthy of taking- to which side did Kenneth abide to?

Knowing that staying behind would be meaningless to the contribution, she had felt like she would let her friends and family down if she could not protect her lord. Yet, she felt even more unsure of herself; Pandora could not truly express herself on paper to say anything about it. In doing so, it would make a lowly knight seem incapable of carrying our orders once bounded by fear.

Pandora was unable to respond to the letter in a timely fashion; a small sigh and a light head shake is let out every time she glances at the empty letter without a proper response in mind.

That one time I brought a jar of honey to lecture I made a mess and the tutor was furious with me. Do you remember? I was running so fast for a 6-year-old!

On a serious note, be careful. There has been suspicious activity going around, as a small warning. Dangerous baskets of wild chocolates and honey-pine bars of soap were delivered. I may have recently have gotten one, but nobody I’ve asked knows where it came from. If you have any trails, please let me know.

How exciting, welcome to Perdan! My apologies, now that I remember, it must have been Oliver Lannister. That puts me at ease, too many personal secrets known can lead me to my demise~

As for chocolates, yes they are dangerously delicious! Perhaps it could be country women; some of my servants have notified me of duck feathers surrounding the basket when it was left behind on the front porch. I am unsure.

Have you spoken to Kenneth yet? Ah, I would notify him myself of your arrival but something quite embarrassing has happened lately. He was refreshingly pleasant when I became a new noble.

Some good news, I have received a letter from the mysterious basket event! Apparently it was Viscount Salem Belmont of Dimwood and he has offered to send me another basket. When I get my next basket we can pick which sweets we like. I should pay him a proper visit. But, I am a little scared to go alone. What if he finds out that the basket was ruined?

On a side note, Lord Kenneth MacArbin has also mentioned that he is willing to fund Aix to allow for chocolate to flow more freely into Perdan. Imagine all the art forming from such a delicious treat, it would be a completely different era.

Anyway, how's life? Any difficulties with the transition?

That aside, it is reassuring to hear that you are recovering well. I have not met Lady Storme yet but she sounds like a true noble. Maybe you need to drink more water, the doctors believe you can swim anyway.

On the topic of men, I am not sure why I write to you often. Perhaps it is because I am able to be a little more true to myself. To be quite honest, writing to other nobles is a bit intimidating; there would be no way I could tell them about the story of the duck waddling a gift basket to my front door. I want to leave a good impression but it is very tiring to write like a proper lady-to-be-courted.

Her pouty lips turned into a frown, it was not luxury items that Pandora liked but the gesture of kindness that caught her attention. She had hoped Salem would not think of Pandora to be some rude pirate; he was warm and welcoming and she just could not know how to be generous back. Pandora had inferred that the warm letters and the delicate attention put into the gifts must indicate that Salem was a skilled craftsman. However, she had been rather indecisive about going supper; Pandora felt uneasy at the thought of having dinner with a stranger.

What if he was not as friendly as the words he has written or if he was similar to Kenneth’s overly friendly facade? It would be extremely uncomfortable. A small nervous voice in Pandora’s head pushes her to go visit.

There are many things in life worth living for. Life is beautiful and I would be very disappointed in Salem if you were otherwise dead. I believe you have a purpose in life, whatever that may be but so that its existence has not been found. It just takes a bit of time and support. Believe in yourself, you are meant to bring great things into this world.

Instead of criticism, let’s make small changes such as replacing the word “I wish” with “I thank”. I think you owe it to Salem for saving your life.

I noticed someone passing by in Perdan earlier and was rather curious to see who it could be. You have caused quite a commotion, I had thought maybe the Queen has arrived from battle or a young new talented entertainer has arrived to sing us a song! Perhaps even one of my relatives, you see, she was quite popular.

Pardon my rudeness, I am Pandora de Pooh. I reside in Bescanon which is not far off from the city- it can be quite expensive to live there, you know? Anyway, if you pass by my family’s bee hive one day in Bescanon, let them know you are one of Pandora's friends! We sell the best firebomb honey you can get your hands on I'll give you the best discount!

Anyway, where are you from? I usually don't see nobles shaven only in the neck region. That's a bit strange.

Gifts

A Gift to Pandora

Waiting by the front door of Pandora's estate is a wicker basket. The basket itself gives of the scent of cherry, and appears to be incredibly solid. Within the basket is a bottle of traditional golden mead from the Golden Lion Meadery in Bescanon, as well as a few hand-crafted soaps. One smelling of lavender, and another of a mix of pine and honey. Accompanying the mead and soaps are a few small items; chocolates, hard candies, some various duck feathers, wild flowers, and a little bee carved out of oak.

A note is also left with the basket that simply reads, "Save the bees. Welcome to Perdan."

If Pandora were to ask as to who may have left the basket, either nobody seems to have an answer, or no two stories match up.
