Update: A Traitor in Fontan's Midst?
We have recently received a message where Neptune Arthur Slasher admitted his guilt.
Letter from Neptune Arthur Slasher Nothing remains for me to do except plead guilty. When I sent that message, I was overtaken by anger. I will accept my punishment, and if I am expelled from Fontan, I will leave this continent for good rather than join one of Fontan's enemies.

A Traitor in Fontan's Midst?
News from within Fontan's ranks has discovered a traitor in their midst. The reported letter of betrayal read:
Letter from Neptune Arthur Slasher (2 hours, 8 minutes ago) Sir Johnnn, I have recently been disillusioned by events in Fontan. Young upstarts are getting on my nerves and nobody is doing anything about it. As SIC of the DG in Fontan, I can provide information about Fontan's military affairs. However, I have a price. I ask that you get one of your infiltrators to take out Sir Tyr De Grif, and Sir Clint Withers, or I be given an appointment as lord or one of the government positions, when I do join CoF.

I will report that we did receive such a letter, but ignored it because we will not accept traitors to Fontan. And especially those who espouse politics that we oppose and were the cause of this civil war. Neptune Arthur Slasher was a noble who was a strong defender of Tal, Basilius and company. Let our loyalties to our cause and realm be open, not hidden.
Further news from within Fontan report that he admitted his guilt and committed suicide. This now means that the Democratic Guards should have a new second-in-command. Hopefully one that is less experienced. We can expect that it will be someone loyal to Tal, Basilius and company though as the Democratic Guards are controlled by that faction.
Lions Rampaging in the South
Recently the Lions, Fontan's elite army, has been wrecking havoc in the lands of the Confederacy and Caligus. The total costs were eventually two Confederate Armies, the region of Viseu, and the walls of Tokat among many other things.
However, all is not lost. In the northern front, Fontan faced several major defeats at the hands of Perdan, Sirion, and Old Rancagua. The north has done well in tying up Fontan's forces and I am intensely grateful for that. In fact, Perdan now borders their capital.
And all did not go as smoothly for the Lions in the south either. They first waited a day before starting a takeover of Viseu. And when they started a friendly takeover, it failed within a day. Their final takeover, a hostile one, lasted 4 days before succeeding. Meanwhile, our friendly takeover of Viseu only took one day. This is a demonstration of how the tide is slowly turning in our favor. Fontan's military government is resorting to more hostile measures to enforce their rule upon the populace. While we still fight for a third region, I believe that the regions are becoming much more sympathetic to our cause and will soon be begging to join us.
