The Church of Humanity is based on democratic ideals where each member have a voice which he/she may use. We rely upon the guidance of the council of elders, which is made up of the founder/prophet and all high priests. To rise through the hierarchy, you must have patience and must work hard for the church.  In order to be a high priest your application must be accepted by all the current high priests and priestess's.
