Edmund Calder

NPCS:

Theodine:

Theodine (Theo for short) served as the captain of Edmund's unit early in his career. Theodine was raised in the Calder family estate in Evora along with Edmund. Growing up Edmund and Theodine were trained by the Calder household weapon's master together and went on many hunting trips in the mountains the estate was built in. She was with Edmund when he killed the mighty grizzly that he made his signature coat from, and she wore one of the fangs fashioned into a necklace out of remembrance for the infamous hunt. When Edmund rose from the minor nobility to serve as a knight of Shadowdale, Theodore came with him out of loyalty and friendship. Theodine served with him in many campaigns until she lost her life in a failed assault against Yssrgard.

Charlotte:

Charlotte was a young orphan girl who entered Edmund's service as a page during his time in Ashforth. Thanks to the eagerness with which she fulfilled her duties, Edmund eventually called upon her to perform the duties of a squire during his many training matches when Theodine was unavailable. Fond of her bubbly energy and optimism, Edmund found himself taking on a fatherly role for the girl. Edmund took on Charlotte as his squire when he left the city, and she has served him faithfully ever since.

The only person Charlotte adores as much as she adores Edmund is Calliope Leblanc, High Priestess of Ainanism. As she matures, she attempts to emulate Calliope's poise and manners when dealing with others.

Elias

Elias Calder

NPCs:
Matteo Rickson: Infamous wayward scribe.
P.S. If anyone is looking for a manservant, I now seem to need a new job. I assure you that I am quite reliable. It was another scribe who made the error, but I was pressured to take the blame on account of him being my mother’s cousin’s husband. -Matteo Rickson

Wallace

Wallace is somewhat taller than average and has a medium build. He has tidy brown hair, is clean shaven. His eyes are a dark brown. Despite the many scars on his face and broken nose, Wallace could have been seen as handsome if not for the scar on his neck. The scar is from his time spent as a captive of the Ash Daimon Hoard that marched against Irondale. Wallace was captured in battle, starved, and beaten. The most brutal wound was the burn on his neck left by daimon's hand as it choked him. Wallace escaped after the daimons mistook him for dead and left him amid the pile of their many victim's bodies. The burn on his neck healed, but Wallace's skin was replaced by the same living ash of the daimons. The scar is not a clear hand print, but it traces the rough outline of one. It begins where the beast's thumb rested beneath Wallace's jaw on the right, follows his jaw above his Adam's apple, and then thickens as the hand reaches out to below his ear.

NPCs:
Rudford: Chief Adjutant of the Noctane Legion. A quirky but efficient man who carries an overly large book full of notes and lists which he writes in with an exceptionally fluffy quill.

Aveline

The youngest daughter of a her family patriarch's third son, Aveline Calder was afforded little chance for advancement by birth. Rather than being willing to settle for a life of mediocrity, Aveline left her family when she was of age and set sail for the Colonies. Aveline is quite short with hair that is so blond it is almost white. In the tradition of the mountain region, she often wears furs over her armor and marks her face with the blue lines of her ancient clan. Her older brothers shared with her the joys of having a pint at the tavern, but beneath her chipper exterior is an intensity that burns within her.

NPCs:
Quintus: Loyal advisor
Remus: Weapons master that entered Aveline's retinue in Alebad

Ulric

Brutish warrior who fought on south island. He towered a head taller than his men and fought with two battle axes. He wore no helm or armor preferring a feather headdress on his head and war paint over his face and body. Died in a duel against Therese Guillotine following the fall of Taselak.

Desmond

A mostly illiterate spearman distantly related to the Calder family. While he had the same family name, he likely shared next to no blood with the better known Calders because his line branched off the family tree many, many generations before the current era.
