The Face of Fronen/Edition:11/Dimianletter
Letter from Dimian (2 hours, 27 minutes ago) Message sent to the Rulers of this world (23 recipients) Pontifex Bocephus,
I have listened to your inane raving and rationalizations for far too long. While the daimon armies continue to burn and rape their way across the island, you sit in your comfortable throne and complain about how the true rulers of humanity don't trust you, and how no one can truly understand how bad things have been for Sint.
When the daimons and undead marched through Riombara, sending half their realm rogue, and destroying nearly their entire army, they didn't cut a deal to save their own necks. They gripped their swords tighter and fought back. When Dominus and his thousands of daimons cut their way through Enweil, Chancellor Handkor didn't bow down to their strength. He worked with his fellow rulers to organize the freemen of the island and score one of the greatest victories in recent memory by sealing one of the portals that allow these monstrosities access to our world. Even the Irombrozians refused to back down before the overwhelming onslaught of the Necromancer's Servants.
Now, let me perfectly clear in my statements, so there can be no possible way that you can misunderstand my low opinion of you and your actions.
You have refused the duties and responsibilities that are the burden of those with noble blood. You have betrayed humanity so that you personally may live, albeit in thrall to a daimon. By so refusing live up to your obligations to humanity, you have demonstrated your complete lack of honor and moral fortitude.
You have committed the ultimate sin of assuming that your own life is more important than the lives of all the other nobles in the entire world, combined. You have refused to assume the role of protector of humanity. You have sold your entire realm into abject slavery under the despotic rule of the foul denizens from the bowels of hell. All in the vain hope that the monstrous daimons will let you live.
With every fiber of my being I decry you as a coward. You have not the courage to face your own destiny. You cut a deal with the devil to avoid the specter of your own mortality. Rather than die protecting your realm and all of mankind, you have surrendered yourself and your realm to an unholy master.
I look forward to the day when the armies of those who have not lost sight of what it is to be a human march into Firbalt and burn the city down around your daimon-worshiping head. I long to be present when you die, so I can see the look of horror on your face when finally meet the real Hastur, and learn how foolish and ignorant you have been in mistaking the infernal power of a daimon lord for the divine power of a true lieutenant of a god. I have no doubt that Hemaglobe will consign your soul to eternal damnation in hell.
So come, Bocephus. Make the journey to Eno, where I have drawn a dueling circle in the dust with my own hand. I promise you safe passage through my lands, all the way to the edge of the circle.
If, on the other hand, you are as cowardly as I believe you to be, you will go squalling like a spoiled brat to your daimon masters and beg them to do the deed for which you don't have the courage. And when I die at the hands of the daimon to which you pray, my death will prove, without a doubt, the extent to which Sint has betrayed the human race.
And that, Bocephus, is how a man stands behind his convictions.
Dimian Indirik King of Kingdom of Alluran
