Fishing

Well I wish, I was a catfish
Swimin' in the, the deep blue sea...

Henrich was a bored man. Extremely bored. Day after day he saw his opportunities going away like water dripping between his fingers. With his age, his father was fighting for Ikalak, climbing the mountains to attack Toren Stronghold. As High Magistrate the situation was not much better. In those times, the most prodigious member of his family, Erik Eyolf was already arresting, deporting, and making fame as an exceptional War Judge. On days like these he missed Tara, even with a crazy tyrant, there were wars to fight.

Under the moonlight, a rower guided the small vessel along the river with torches to attract the fish. Henrich remained standing, holding a long harpoon with a rope tied around his wrist. Hunting whales was much more fun, risky and so noble to him as the usual hunting parties in the woods, but he was bored that night and enjoyed the cold winter wind against his face. They went through a good stretch where the river had not frozen but always under the rower’s surveillance. Now and then he attacked the river with his harpoon, trying to catch some fish.

After filling a small basket, he turned to one of the benches where rested a little gem. Beautiful and elegant under the furs, a gift from his parent. Accustomed to the contours of the Sirion River, Kid Rock's looked very familiar and despite Henrich not being an elf, his human presence was quite nice for her. He inherited his father's chivalry. He treated her almost like a sister, even when the kisses were warmer to forget the winter.

Henrich Eyolf: “Can you sing to me, dear lady?”

She smiled, seeking the warrior’s hands to heat her owns. Her face blushed under the torchlight. Her voice was so sweet and she sang a little song:

If you're looking for me

You better check under the sea

Cause that is where you'll find me

Underneath the water

At the bottom of the sea…

Henrich outlined a melancholic smile, remembering his mother buried along the cliffs in Abilotiel. The siren song seemed to shake him, then the woman grabbed his face for another warm kiss. Henrich need to find a new impetus, or he would end his days seeking shelter into the depths.
