When someone is pious - intentionally holy and devoted to their faith - the gods take notice. There are servants of the divine, who are holy by nature. While a relic from a saint is a piece of their body saved after they die, certain divine servants never die. Call them angels if you will. As they never die, you can never own "the pinky of an angel". But they do shed their feathers, when a mortal servant needs help. This "relic", the Feather of Piety, is taken from the wing of a spirit being, and therefore imbued with the power of their god and their faith. It will find the person who needs it, and be present until the need has passed.

Those of opposing faith, those who lose their faith, or those who otherwise are faithless, will find the feather decays faster in their presence, as it tries to return to the spiritual being from which it came.

Those true believers who possess the feather, will find it decays slower, as it tries to remain for as long as it is needed.

To possess this feather, is to announce to the world you have been granted personal boon by a god, and she is watching you, helping you, influencing the world around you. The power of the Feather will spur peasants into faith, and bend kings to your will. Use the Feather for good, and good will abound around you.
