Quarrel at the Sea Shore I

A story of the red cloaked assassin crosses a town crier, and though speech and way of mouth, the deed reaches even high in the social latter.

Everyone was filled with verve and engaging in their summer festivities, the villagers walked with a spring in their step. Hopelessly lost in ale and the aged spring herbs. Baby boys were being blessed in the harsh waves on the sea shore, so they become strong warrior as they age. Men of certain age gather around bon-fires and other sorts of pyres. And they began to sing their own summer ritual. But little did they know that all their singing and frolicking had caught the ears of the hungry. An ill-fated summer starts...

Tentime, a hero, a celebrity to all those who have fear of things out of their own control. Be it only a local celebrity, but his name has traveled far and high, a man who has revenged his family by slaying twin dragons. His name has crossed the lips of people such as King Jenred, and Morrighan Ciann, in jests of the court or in service. He could have himself recognized as a true noble, if it was his will. But he wasn't done yet, he would slay a fools idol, and bring gods and goddesses to walk the lands of Battlemaster. The people didn't care, they needed someone strong to fight away their fears. Messages flocked to Tentime about powerful undead and rampaging beasts and other monsters, and how he must help them. One massager caught his eye however, something strange. It was a young red-tressed lass with eyes like the blue in the sky, and just as endless. She Requested Tentime to aid her sea-side village, that has been plaged by strange undead that they never seen before. From her description of the foul corpses... Barren Hungers.

Barrens are mainly unremarkable from the corpses from which they came, but they have an unstoppable hunger and iron will. Relentless runners/sprinters. They only think hunger, hunger, food. They will eat whatever is on their plates, with and insane lack of etiquette. Fingers rubbed to claws, teeth forged into pointed fangs, eyes filled with a blind white rage. Their named Barrens for the reputation to leave an area empty of any form of life. Even grass dies to their insane foul aura. Na unaffected messenger? not possible, but Tentime didn't notice the feline nails, or predators hunch and gaze the Red haired girl has. A mistake Tentime will come to regret... The Nightstalkers still crave for revenge.
