Interlude 3: Food
After hearing the account of what had transpired just that very night from his weapons-master, Xarnelf was indeed very intrigued by both the blade and its current owner. He had finished a light meal of fruits and cheeses and now sat in contemplation with a goblet of red wine held in one hand. Apparently arriving at a decision, the duke drained the remainder of his drink and rose from the table. Marcus also rose from his seat and prepared to take his leave back to his chambers for some much-wanted slumber. Instead...
"Marcus, come with me to the stables. Let us meet this commoner, whose name I do not know because no one thought to ask, and see this sword that you seem to praise so highly."
Fighting to maintain a neutral expression, the man nodded and followed the duke, after a simple, "Yes, my liege."
