Serpentis Family/Erik Eyolf/Blessings - Part II
Like serpents the women surrounded and enchanted him, bringing him for the middle of the room. One of them offered a silver chalice with a precious wine. The other threw in the pyres secret herbs of Rollbar, different from the herbs that the men smoked. The spiraled smoke arose until the roof and involved them. The real world joined with the world of dreams and spirits. The world governed by the Goddess. With a hiss the song began.
Priestess I: "Wake up. You can't remember where it was. Had this dream stopped?"
Priestess II: "Once I had, a little game. I liked to crawl back into your brain. I think you know the game I mean. I mean the game called 'go insane'..."
Priestess I: "Now you should try this little game. Just close your eyes forget your name. Forget the world forget the people. And we'll erect a different steeple..."
The priestesses danced in a hypnotic trance around him. The music was whispered in his ears as delicious caresses. Inspired by the goddess's ethereal presence, he answered:
Erik Eyolf: "Children of Night. Who among you will run with the hunt?"
Priestess II: "The snake was pale gold. Glazed and shrunken. We were afraid to touch it. The sheets were hot dead prisons. And she was beside you. Old, she's not, young. Her dark red hair. Her white soft skin..."
Priestess I: "Now, run to the mirror. Look!"
Erik Eyolf: "WAKE UP!!!"
Priestess II: "I can't live thru each slow century of her moving. I let my cheek slide down. Feel the good cold stinging blood. The smooth hissing snakes of rain..."
Erik Eyolf: "Children of Night. Who among you will run with the hunt?"
Priestess I: "This little game is fun to do. Just close your eyes no way to lose. And I'm right there I'm going too. Release control we're breaking thru..."
Priestess II: "And I can tell you. The names of the Kingdom. I can tell you the things that you know. Listening for a fistful of silence. Climbing valleys into the shade"
The song went finishing. But the dance just changed. Involved by the wine, the herbs and revelations, the sweated bodies went lying down in the cushions. The torments left. Inebriated, they found celebration. With the priestesses' help, he found the peace that he needed. As a serpent changing of skin, Erik Eyolf abandoned the old problems to face the new challenges.
