Roleplay from Danzi

Danzi looked with tired, bloodshot eyes at her worried scribe. She shook her head and dismissed him. He audibly sighed relief and bustled away quickly.

The stench of blood and defeat made her feel sick as she gathered her 6 remaining men, and left orders with the healers to direct any that had recovered to join them at sunset.

Letting her sword dangle by her side, it felt heavy and unwieldy. She knew now that she wanted to nothing more than to pick up the shorter blade of an assassin and move into the deepest shadows.

Hanging her head she willed herself to fight this last battle with honour, for after the sunset she would head to Sandalak and visit the dark, hooded man in the academy to begin training.

Captain Haldred looked at the dark and stormy face of his liege as she dug into her purse and dragged out some gold coins.

Avoiding eye contact she gave him the coins,

"You and the men can stay here in Sandalak now, you've seen enough fighting on the front line"

Without another word she turned and headed to the walls of the Academy and strode up its large steps.

In the dark room Danzi's eyes gaze sternly ahead, allowing her peripheral vision to watch for movement as her ears buzzed in the silence.

Her hand trembled slightly as she brought forward the short, sharp and deadly blade of the worn training dagger. Although she missed the familiar weight and length of her long sword, she enjoyed the thrill of learning to use a new weapon.

Sliding her foot slowly forward, she attempted to move to a better vantage point when she felt the cool, calculating edge of a dagger on her throat. Her stomach churned and she involuntarily shuddered.

As the trainer released the press of the knife Danzi turned around to face him,

"You have a long way to go M'Lady", he said gruffly and left the room.

Roleplay from Danzi

In the cool, dark and quiet room Danzi pulled her brown hair back and tied it securely at the nape of her neck. Settling down cross legged, she slowly closed her eyes and allowed her mind to recount the training she had learnt that day. In her mind she visualised the movements, the timing and the reactions.

The serenity was lost with an enormous thump of the door opening wide.

Standing with effortless speed, Danzi stared with unconcealed annoyance at the intruder.

"M'Lady, just confirming your location for the troopleader list"

Giving the scribe a hard look she gathered her few belonging with purpose into a medium, soft leather bag and joined him near the door.

"From now on don't bother. You won't be finding me."

With that, she left her former room to find uninterrupted peace and quiet.
