It looks like some of these are missing unfortunately... sigh... oh and keep in mind this is horribly under construction...

With a mix of emotions, she spoke: "I'm the first female warrior in my family; no one in my family seems to approve of my vocation. But I simply love the essence of war. I grew up wanting to prove that a woman can do as much as a man in any occupation. Hopefully, to some respect, I have proved that."

The night progressed on. Conversations progressed on, and the laughter grew louder. The wine had sunk into her body, flushing her cheeks.

"It's late...". She rose from her chair, but passed out on the floormat before she could say any more.

Sangue stood up to attend to her fallen guest.

Sangue openned the door and called for an old servant woman and her daughter. He returned to the sleeping lady. Smiling, he gentlely picked her up and took her towards his room. The old maid was waiting for him there. Her daughter behind her yawning.

They eyed their lord as he approached. "Have a nice night M'Lord?"

"Oh yes," Sangue proclaimed. "And with her this drunk, it will only get so much better!"

The young girls eyes grew as she gasped. The old maid new him better though. "Would you be needing some extra pillows and blankets, M'Lord?"

Sangue smiled, "I am truely sorry to have you woken up so late. If it was something as simple as that I would have done it myself. It would probably be best if the dress was loosened or removed. You know how these noble ladies fancy their dresses. I would prefer she no ruin it. It is not my place to do such a thing though."

"Ahh that is why you had me bring the young one," the old maid said as she realised he meant for them to do it. "Where will you sleep M'Lord?"

After setting Freliana down on his bed, he sighed. "In the hall I suppose..."

Sangue sat against the wall, and was quickly asleep. Before the woman had even finished preparing Freliana for sleep.

Light infiltrated the room and made the quickest path to any surface it could. Daylight had broken a few hours ago and she had not awoken. The bed, and the fur blanket enveloped her bare skin. For women in the field, the pleasures of sleeping so vulnerable could not be enjoyed.

She was awoken to the song of a bird. At the very moment she gained a fraction of consciousness, her mind went numb. “Damn”, she thought. A sudden fear hit her; she had next to no clothing on. She donned a loose chest garment, cleverly bound around her torso, which served as a brassiere; and a pair of pantaloon.

Hr dinner gown lay on a nearby stool. Her mind raced to remember the last event before she passed out. Nothing. She began to ask the next important question: where is Lord Sangue? She uncoiled herself from the warmth of the blanket, stood up, and proceeded to change back into her own attire.

She opened the bedroom doors and peeked left and right before stepping into the hall. Freliana advanced towards the dinner chamber. Lord Sangue had been awake for a while, for the sleep was far from comfortable. Even in his middle age, he managed to have only sustained a sore back. Every morning he would read reports, insuring that he was up-to-date.

“Lord…I’m sorry about last night.”

Sangue was slightly startled.

“Well, finally up?”

“Yes…”. There was an awkward pause, and the daytime revealed Freliana’s ruby-red blush. “Did you undress…” Sangue cut in before she finished her sentence.

Sangue cut in with a harsh series of coughs. “I’m sorry my lady.” He said with a somewhat raspy voice. “It has been somewhat stressful hosting everything in Brive for so long. I am afraid I might have pushed myself a little harder than I should have last night. Though it was a grand night. I rather enjoyed talking the night away.”

Sangue smiled, ”Oh and don’t worry I won’t tell anyone I had to carry you to bed after dinner.” He yawned widely and did not notice as the color started to drain from Freliana’s face. “Forgive me I slept very little. The hallway was not very heated and uncomfortable as… well as one could expect.”

Sangue noticed her lack of color and the growing confused look on her face. “Is everything ok Freliana?”

“Oh, my Lord…I’ve been an inconvenience!”. She could read the lack of rest in his eyes. “You don’t look very well…”.

Having been the commander of a troupe, Freliana had picked up some expertise of healing. Often, after serious battles, one healer could not tend to all of her men. She thought that it would be convenient to learn how to treat wounds and ailments herself.

She stepped forward. She cupped his forehead with one palm, and took his hand with her other. His head was much too warm, and his hands were much too cold.

“Lord Sangue, sleeping in the hall was unnecessary.” “Your role as marshal far outweighs the needs of me. I’ll go out to forage some herbs back. Then I’ll bring some water to boil. You need some medicinal tea, or else you won’t feel too good.”

Sangue smiled, shook his head, and wave his hand dismissively. “Do not worry yourself. I’ll be fine.”

He sat down and appraised her. “I told a trusted female servant to loosen up your dress some or to take it off depending on whether you she thought it would be ruined. My guess is by the state of it she removed it. You look as love as you did last night. How could I leave a fair maiden unconscious, undressed, unguarded, and alone? I didn’t want to wake anyone else, so I posted myself as guard. No one would dare try and get by me.“

Sangue smiled and asked, “Since your up now, I suppose it is time for breakfast. How do you like your eggs?”

OOC I couldn't resist...

She was flattered, but responded sternly "Lord Sangue, I've been a soldier for 6 years already, I can handle myself." She softened her speech, "But you're sweet for having thought of that. You wont stop me from getting those herbs. I'll be back very shortly."

She stood up swiftly and prepared herself towards the door. "I'd like an omelette, and I trust you know how to make a good one. Surprise me." And having said that, Freliana left the dinner chamber.

Sangue chuckled… Does she really think I can cook? he thought to himself. I think she will be surprised. Cooking is one of my many talents.

Sangue wandered off to the kitchen. As he entered the kitchen stopped. “I need to cook breakfast for Lady Freliana.” He declared.

The kitchen emptied with quite a few snickers and chuckles. He couldn’t help but smirk at all of the commotion. He set about gathering supplies… half a dozen eggs, two bell peppers, one green, and one red, an onion, some mushrooms, some ham, and some cheese.

He quickly started dicing and slicing, while a ham steak cooked. About the same time he was finished chopping the ham steak finished cooking. He took it off the fire and started cutting it into cubes. Busy at work he didn’t even notice the shadow in the doorway watching him.

He quickly started all the cooking. The eggs, the veggies, the ham, and the cheese went in. As he pulled the finished product off the fire, he turned to see Lady Freliana standing there watching with a cup of tea in her hand at the doorway.

OOC in 4 hours I'm gone for the wknd just a heads up...

"My, my, it smells heavenly." She strutted to Sangue and offered him the herbal drink. "Dont expect the tea to be as sweet as me" she laughs.

Sangue, a little worried, took a small sip and cringed. "Well, you're right; it's absolutely awful!"

"I packed more with me, but I gave them to your servant. Now, shall we set the table?"

The two prepared their meals and sat down beside each other.

"Strange how you've prepared both dinner and breakfast for me. You spoil me, I haven't received lady-like treatment for a long time."

“You m’Lady are worth spoiling. Though in all truth it has been a great while since I have acted so lord-like.” Sangue said with a sigh. “Generally in my own head I think of myself as the Butcher of Perdan. Most know of my exploits in the PMW. Looting 1000’s of gold destroying walls and villages all across the continent.”

“For every action there is a reaction though. For every gold coin my men have taken it has cost near 10 peasants their lives. I have had countless 1000s of men under my command. That adds up to more lives lost due to my actions than I’d really care to know.” Sangue said while rubbing his forehead. “It is hard to feel and act Lord-like with that much blood on your hands…”

“The funny thing is…” Sangue looked into her eyes. “Those eyes make it pretty easy to not act but be actually be Lordly.”

Sangue slightly reddened. “I have rather enjoyed your company Freliana.”

With amazing pace, Freliana made her way to the encampment. Despite the duration of travel, she kept her pace up. All along the way she kept thinking of what to say. It seemed so unusual for her to feel so nervous. A woman so fierce and so determined, yet a woman so young and unsure.

At the steps, she took her time. Apprehensively, she knocked on the doors of Sangue's homestead.

In Brive very few things of note happened without Sangue knowing, but word of her approach had taken him completely by surprise. He had run down the stairs ordered dinner to be prepared and run back upstairs to get dressed while ordering the table to be set up.

Half the manor’s staff was laughing as their Lord frantically ran about. During Kings, Queens, or invading armies Sangue was always calm and precise in his orders. This one young woman sent him into a panic though. It was just too much for everyone. They had to laugh. Sangue caught himself laughing about right before he heard a soft knock on the door.

He took a deep breath to prepare himself. Women and the power they have over us… Now calm down damn it! he thought to himself. Sangue answered the door himself still smiling, “Greetings M’lady Freliana. Please do come in. Dinner shall be ready in half an hour or so.”

"Sangue, cancel the dinner, I plead to you. I'm sorry but I want us to go to the tournament grounds now. Take a steed and meet me at the belltower in 10 minutes."

And with that, she smiled, spun herself and proceeded away from the house.

Sangue shrugged. “Make it fast and to go!” he yelled out as he walked back into the manor.

Freliana was waiting at the tower. The sun was to setting behind her. He was tempted to pause and stared at the two beauties before him… Damn what a site that is he thought as he smiled and approached.

Sangue road out to meet her on his destrier. His armor was blood red plate with a golden lion on his chest. His helm was black and shaped in the likeness of a wolf’s head opened in a fierce growl with garnet eyes. The wolf’s fangs stood out a good 4-5 inches in front of his face. A great sword was hung over his shoulder.

The house of Raiva’s symbol was that of the wolf. Garnets were typically used for the eyes over rubies due to their deeper blood red color.

“I had planned on dinner the us moving on to the tournament in a carriage but oh well.” He again shrugged. “This way I get to show my new armor before I get to the field.”

His squire approached bringing the carriage laden with extra armaments. “I had everything packed already. Shall we go?”

Beside her stood the squire, with only one horse. It was strange to him that she had no steed for herself, but she had intended for that. She wore a purple tunic with amazing gold patterns embroidered on; her long, sandy brown hair matched these patterns. Her armour and equipment was cased up on the squire's horse. In her hands, she held a hamper.

"I have some food here, we can have a picnic together. My hamper cannot compare to the lavish feast you had prepared for me, but I hope my company will make up for that."

Sangue was still puzzled: "Where's your horse, Milady? You know how to ride dont you?"

"Haha, Sangue, I rode with the Perdan Ghost Riders back when I was younger, of course I know how to ride! I know there's room for one more on your horse though."

"Oh" He thought.

"Shall we go? My squire will be carrying my supplies, and be escorting from a distance, we can have a private ride to the tournament grounds."

Sangue wrapped the reins around his left hand as the huge warhorse looked over at Freliana… He reached out to pick her up with his right hand. “Just a word of warning… Stranger is not really the nicest horse. He is actually one of the meanest bastards I have ever seen. He rather likes to bite...”

“Haha, I think I can handle him.” Freliana laughed as she took his hand and mounted.

After she was settled in front of him, Sangue wrapped his left arm around her waist and grabbed the reins with his right. “He generally is never this nice, so I don’t let him run free much. Most of the stable hands fear him. He’s bitten a few and kicked one poor boy. It nearly took off his leg." Sangue sighed remembering the incident...

"I am happy he approves of you! Don’t fall to far behind boys.” Sangue yelled back to the squires. ”Shall we let him stretch his legs some?”

Freliana smiled and nodded.

Sangue urged Stranger on. The horse took off with insane speed for something so big. The world seemed to blurred but all Sangue could do is smile. This did after all give him a reason to hold on to her "so she didn’t fall off"… of course he knew she could ride well enough not to need it. The PGR was filled with great cavalrymen. He could pretend he was ignorant of that fact though right?

She braced herself as the horse accelerated. In response to Sangue's motion, she leaned back on his breastplate, placed one hand on his, and the other on a saddlegrip. The air seemed cold as it flew by her cheeks; it bit at her skin. One would expect that her skin be rough after the years on the field, but she always took care of herself. She would always apply a foundation in the morning to protect against the harsh elements of the day, and she would always clean it off at night.

They rode by some houses, and their noses picked up the sweet scent of foods being prepared by the locals. Perdanese cuisine - second to none.

Just ahead was a hill, Seymour's Lookout to be exact. "Sangue, head for that hill, if we're quick we can still catch the sunsetting."

He took the challenge, and spurred Stranger.

"I'm more than quick, milady, you just watch".

Stranger took off towards Seymour’s Lookout. They raced up the worn trail. The hill had a vast view of most of Brive and the rest of the route to Patora. Lords and peasants alike often visited its peak to enjoy the view.

At the summit the pair found the sun slowly setting over Patora. The city was bathed in a golden light, which blended into orange, pink, red, purple, and finally blue. It was a majestic site. Sangue wrapped his other arm around her and watched the sun slowly fade.

Sangue chuckled, and whispered in her ear. “I suppose this is were I make the corny comment of ‘It’s only half as beautiful as you’?”
