She avoids responsibility as if it were a disease; she is not at all confident in her own abilities and does not want to risk failing again. She thus has no particular aspirations, or ambition. All she wants is to fight, and even that is not something she feels confident with - she simply does it because she enjoys it, not because she thinks she's any good at it. This is not readily apparent to strangers, however, as she hides her lack of confidence behind displays of cruelty and bravado.

Anne has a lot of pent up rage, and has difficultly hiding her emotions. However, when dealing with peasants or her own troop, she usually tries to keep herself under control so as not to appear weak. She is polite to her superiors, and tries to avoid losing too much control around them as well. Among those that are socially her equals, she is far freer with her words and actions.

If she's drunk, much of the previous paragraph may not apply, for drinking amplifies her emotions and makes them even harder to hide, and harder still to control her words. She frequently says and does things she would not do were she sober. Unfortunately, this occurs quite often, for although Anne tries not to drink in public, she uses leprechaun wine to distract herself when she hasn't seen battle or has to stay away from battle for whatever reason. Further compounding this problem, the wine and the hallucinations it causes are slowly eroding her sanity and making her act far differently than she would otherwise.

When sober, she is usually quieter and may appear much more calm, if a bit morose. If she seems to be the least bit happy, it is probably a sign that she has been in battle recently, or that she has been drinking.
