This is the brief summary of the Lious family - father Melvin and mother Kris. Melvin was a miner in Chocxal when he met Kris. He was very skilled, and eventually started his own mining business which did very well. They had 3 boys and a girl, Angela. When Angela died during childbirth, the family was devastated. Melvin stopped working and was never the same. Melvin died when Rebel was 13. Kris raised the boys on her own with the money the business brought in. When all the boys were older, Kris sold the business and divided the money between the three boys. Kris took Morton to the Colonies, while Rebel and Geoff began building their own lives. The rest, as they say, has yet to be written...

Rebel

The oldest of three brothers is both sly and clever. Given the name 'Rebel' to match the surname 'lious' from his father, he always had an uncanny ability to understand and associate with regular people. Ironically quite loyal, Rebel was the only brother that didn't leave home to seek his fortune and fame. Instead, he stayed to protect his extended family. Rebel enjoys the finer things in life, including regional delicacies, art, and music. After a successful run as Judge and a failed campaign for Prime Minister, Rebel has retired to Lowdale to enjoy the fine weather and calm ocean breeze.

Geoff

The middle son always has felt somewhat lost in the shuffle, and that's why he's struggled so hard to prove himself. Geoff wanted nothing more than to become greater than his brother Rebel. Geoff left home for a life of battle, going first to the Southwest Island, then traveling back to Atamara's realm of Tara, then to Cagilan Empire. After finally reuniting and making peace with Rebel, he's developed his own individuality. He moved to Plergoth, protecting the people of Gaxano from the hordes.

A short time later, Tyreslagter Family/Predbjørn II seceded Dyomoque to reform Khthon, taking Gaxano with it. Being loyal to Predbjørn II, Geoff joined the fledgling realm. Predbjørn II disappeared shortly thereafter, leaving Geoff alone in a realm with two regions and an angry Plergoth army breathing down his neck. Fortunately, Enweil declared war on Plergoth as Plergoth's war was winding down. Geoff managed to survive diplomatically, holding true to the principles on which the realm was founded.

Geoff co-founded the Hall of Heroes, a guild made to unite the heroes of Beluaterra against the undead and monsters.

His rule lasted for nearly a year, before his untimely death during the war with Plergoth. He was a hero in every sense of the word, restoring hope to the people of Dyomoque, expanding Khthon from two regions with only himself to a realm of 5 regions (Weghie, Tindle, and Pel Mark) and many heroes at the time of his death.

Geoff's death, as recounted by Artevan of Plergoth

The Diamond Wolves charged through the courtyard; swords meeting shields. Artevan and his men had led the assault on Dyomoque in an attempt to take advantage of the enemy’s army being out of position to stop their March. Their surprise had worked and they flooded the city when it was at its’ most vulnerable point. Scout reports were unclear. Some reports had seen Geoff, Kthon’s longtime Chancellor, entering just ahead of the invading troops in an effort to rally the defenses as best he could, but that was not confirmed until halfway through the battle The Supreme Judge spotted him barely 10 feet away felling one of his own Diamond Wolves. Heat seethed deep in his heart, they had exchanged words repeatedly over the many months they had been at war. Geoff had even recently been in Artevan’s own cells, but his quick escape was a stain that the Marshal of the Defenders of Plergoth carried now for weeks since Geoff’s quick exit. Now the time had come for them to meet blade to blade and Artevan was confident he would fell his adversary. A few quick strides and a massive clang rang out loud as Artevan’s blade swung down and met Geoff’s. Geoff met his gaze with equal dislike; it was clear he too had looked forward to the chance to run Artevan through. Now they both began a deadly dance of blades. Artevan would parry, Geoff’s sword darted forward but glanced off shield. A quick flick up and Artevan knew he would score home, but a turn and a flick of his own shield and Geoff countered the move. For minutes the battle raged. Around them the chaos of war surrounded them both as hundreds fell wounded and dead around them; but neither of them paid heed. The pitch of battle was nothing to them; they were the eye of the storm now. In the flash of shields and swords Artevan finally saw it; his moment to score the fatal blow. Geoff was wide open and Artevan knew the killing blow was his! He thrust forward with his blade only realizing too late; the obvious opening was too obvious. Geoff flashed his own blade out quicker than almost any swordsman Artevan had seen before. Geoff’s blade slid down Artevan’s and with a flick of his wrist and a flip Artevan’s blade came loose and he was disarmed. Scenario’s played quickly through Artevan’s mind. Only a shield in hand and few options, Artevan fell backward barely avoiding a killing blow in turn from Chancellor Geoff. He landed hard on his back and stars danced around his eyesight. His own time looked like it had come, and Artevan steeled himself for the death blow… which did not come. As his vision cleared he saw a snarl on Geoff’s face… had he spared Artevan? Then the Supreme Judge saw the arrow protruding from the Chancellor’s chest. He glared with anger at Artevan, for they both knew he had won; there was no denying that. As Geoff fell to a knee leaning against his sword Artevan lept to his feet and grabbed his own blade. Artevan had seen the blood flowing from the wound. It was black as tar. There would be no recovery from that shaft. Chancellor Geoff was felled. He had no time to dwell on it or think about it now. How did Artevan feel? This man had declared war. And he had done things that from Artevan’s view point were quite wrong, but such are the moments that bring men to war. A twinge of sadness moved across Artevan’s heart. He was not unaware of the legendary battles Geoff had fought in days past. No man fights battles such as he had and not earn respect from friend and foe alike. But now was not the time for such musings. War raged on, and it would not wait for these two warriors. Artevan grabbed his lost sword and rejoined the battle. Perhaps in the future men such as Chancellor Geoff would be mourned, but not now, not today. War continued to rage in Dyomoque.

Morton

The runt of the Lious litter, Morton had to rely on his brains rather than brawn to make it in his family. He is an intellectual, favoring logical studies over the martial or fine arts. Morton was very close to his mother, who took him to the Colonies to start a separate life away from the competitive nature of Atamara. Morton later went insane, challenging the great Maj. Gen. R. H. Anderson to a duel to the death. After clinging to life for a few days, he passed away from his wounds. He was 23 years old.

Fura

Fura was adopted at a young age, and was traveling home to reunite with his biological parents. A storm arose and the ship sank. Some say Fura and a few friends washed up on shore on an island in the southwest, but nobody's heard from Fura since. The Lious family has given up hope of ever seeing Fura again.
