The Miranars are an ancient line descended from the noble Miranos of Enlod. The family's patriarch was closely tied to the Red Sentinels - the martial branch to a religious order entrusted with the protection of the northern borders of the ancient Arcaean Empire. At least two of Miranos' descendents became grand masters of the order, which collapsed along with the empire. As the northlands fell into chaos, the Miranar line virtually vanished.
