Adalace is a balanced version of her siblings.  She shares [[Raif]]'s pragmatism, but in place of his mercenary views she has compassion.  Likewise, she shares [[Poindexter]]'s curiosity and lust for knowledge, but she lacks his ego and intellectual insecurity.  She does tend to be headstrong and does not always consider the ramification of her actions.  As a result, she can appear to be very courageous, or merely foolhardy.  On the other hand, she strives hard to do what she feels is right, and she is not afraid to speak truth to power.
