The dark woods of Mnalor, named the Arcachon Forest for the previous realm that occupied the Dark Isle, blanketed the land in endless sea of trees. The coastal western terrain is regularly shrouded completely by ocean mists, which gives the land a haunted and ghostly appearance.

The darkness under the canopy of the forest was due to the height and density of the endless trees of Mnalor. Long ago, the thick forest covered the entire island, which was the origin of the "Dark Isle" name, according to the oldest sages. The dark woods made travel slow and visibility short, though there was enough regular travelers on the Mnalor Road these days to keep it in relatively good condition.

Mnalor is home to many small, flourishing hunting and logging communities that form the basis of her wealth and population. The mysteries and legends associated with the woods have been embraced by the local populace as well as incorporated into their traditions and stories of old.

Many of the wealthiest nobles of Coralynth travel to Mnalor yearly to experience the bountiful hunting grounds the locals take for granted.
