Ordu-Baliq, means "town of the court" or "town of the army" in the tongue of the steppe nomads. It is the regional capitol of Larodais province, and is the seat the Baron of Larodais. It is situated in the central steppe, straddling all trade routes through the province, with good water supplies and pasturage. The town itself is lightly fortified but well organised, with a fortified military command point and a commercial entry point. Certain areas of the town are allotted for trade and handcrafts, while in the centre of the town are the Baron’s mansion, houses of rich residents, and the temple quarter. A notable feature is a great green granite obelisk set up in the central square opposite the Baron’s mansion. It is carved into the shape of a coiled dragon and bears a runic inscription glorifying the Gods. | |||
