Modern Ornaz
An expansive forest, known as the Woods of Varro, blankets the majority of Ornaz, concealing a handful of small communities. Logging provides the main source of income for the region while a small farming zone in the southeast is responsible for the region's dairy and grain supplies. Meat is in ample supply thanks to the various species of deer and boar that can be hunted within the forested areas.
Many adventurers come to Ornaz seeking to hunt down the beasts and Fae rumored to live within the deep confines of the forests. Bounties for the hides and heads of such creatures are often on offer.
Rumours persist that a black market community exists far from the patrol routes, accessible only by those who understand the twists and turns of the darker parts of the woods. Free from the arm of Aenilian justice, it is said that those who frequent the market can find items and commodities, rare, illegal and often both. A large tree stands in the middle of the quasi-town covered in several dozen sheets of parchment, each one a message, sign, advertisement or job offer. It is a place to keep a hand near your blade and a careful eye on your neighbour.
