Origin
Unfortunately not much was documented about the knights templar before it's fateful dismissal from service, due to the plague that struck most of it's commanders. The army at some stage of it's development aimed to consist of pure cavalry units. It succeeded in raising the Sultanate's number of cavalry dramatically, though it failed to achieve it's unrealistc objective for achiving a purely cavalry army.
