The Black Aegis was first found by Nusillian Arnel, after he had fought an undead champion and the champion's minions. He had almost mistaken it for a rusty, old shield until it had reflected his torchlight. Tired and weary, he laboured as he dragged the eerie shield out of the undead lair, then began travelling south towards Aja. He knew it had to be worth something.
