Date: Signed upon February the Twentieth in the Year Two-thousand and Nine

Declaration: High King of Greater Aenilia, Luyten Dell

Summary: An Account of the Declaration of War between Papania and thereby their allies Ohnar West

Rulers of the Far East,

I come to you today to admit, that I made a mistake. Though so early on in my reign as the King of the new monarchy of Greater Aenilia, it is somewhat understandable and I hope that you can reflect upon my indiscretion favourably in the years to come.

The mistake I made was a failure in my willingness to come to the aid of an ally in need when the call was made. Unfortunately at the time, so concerned was I with remaking Aenilia from within and casting off the last vestiges of the former Empire that I gave foreign policy a glancing second thought, and in so doing pledged Aenilian conditional neutrality in this conflict. But, with more time to spare, with greater thought and with greater information at hand, I now have a chance to rectify that situation and therefore do I stand before you now in total support of our allies in Cathay, their sovereignty and their lands.

Furthermore I shall also announce to the Far East a new policy of Aenilian diplomacy, which is built upon the premise that the sovereign rights of all nations whether they be friend or foe are sacred, and therefore that any action taken against any realm with a mind to see them destroyed should be avoided or curtailed at any chance. Therefore in this same vein, I have also pledged my support for the realm of Sartania and their right to continue to exist in some shape or form.

Finally, I will add that though Aenilia has indeed embarked upon the path of war in accordance with our alignment with Cathay, we are not averse to peace by any means and therefore look forward to a time when Cathay and Papania are no longer at war. For should such a thing occur then Aenilia will be the first to soften our stance and seek peace as well.

Until that time.....

Sir Luyten Dell High King of Greater Aenilia
